-   -   is Dexter "superior" to Callum? (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=232728)

No, nobody is superior to anyone, Callum does feel inferior though but that's his own issues that he needs to deal with, it's nothing to do with Dexter imo

Agreed. I love how Dexter is getting the blame (in Callums head) when a few weeks back, BEFORE any of the Dexter stuff started, he was crying on to Charlie on their date about the very same things that hes upset about now. Feeling worthless, etc etc.

Dexter is a spiv lying his way through the show. Callum is sane but rattled and is simply using a different angle to try to gain support. I think Dexter has lived his life as a lie for so long he feels bulletproof, but in real life, we can all run away from criticism, in there, he cant and its getting to him.

Callum is as sane as the next man, its Dexter we need to worry about.

Quite possibly in the outside world but I think the house is beginning to break him. I really think he should leave for his own well being and I'm not saying that in a nasty way, I genuinely think that he's having some sort of break down in there

Can anybody blame him, he is in a an environment where his every move is scrutinised by millions of people and he is stuck in a goldfish bowl of a house where he has to constantly face down his companions.

I don't blame anybody for having a breakdown in those circumstances.

And nobody is superior to anybody, that is elitist talk.

Personally I think they share a lot of characteristics and are both as bad as each other. I don't particularly like either of them but I could deal with Dexter as he's more panto villain in what he does whereas Callum, well there is something definitely not right with that lad.

Oh no I don't either, but they're all in that Goldfish bowl, look at what Hazel has had to face in there and she's dealt with it all incredibly well. I know I wouldn't be able for it which why i wouldn't put myself in that situation.

Also, in regards to the point you made about superiority, I agree with you 100% but tbf Callum is the only one claiming that Dexter is superior or making him feel inferior, dexter hasn't claimed he was superior to anyone

Absolutely, my second point was in relation to those that think he is superior not Dexter himself.

And also I agree about Hazel, she has recovered her composure magnificently and that's coming from someone who doesn't like her.

Ah ok, I do agree wholeheartedly with that and I do believe the only person that can make you feel inferior to anyone is yourself. I think Callum has lost all his confidence in there and tbh I think that's more down to Charlie nominating him than anything Dexter has done

That is very true, I come from a mental health background so I have a strong interest in the mental health and psychology of the housemates.

He'll probably not admit it but I think if he was offered an exit tonight he would probably take it, I think he is getting mentally exhausted in there.

Definitely which is why I think he really should go on Friday, it seems cruel to keep him in there for longer

dyfed 01-08-2013 09:39 AM

Callum feels not good enough in his own head, that is his problem,Dexter on the other is everything Callum would like to be,so it could be good old fashion...Jealousy.

Agreed, I would like him to go purely for his own sanity. It stops being a game when it has that effect on a person.

Definitely, I would hope BB has atleast had someone speaking to him though and keeping a close eye on him

I think they have. He is called to the DR for lengthy chats almost every night, and the others have commented a few times about how many times a day he is in there.

Good, I didn't know that. It will do him good too even if he just uses it as a confidential way to vent.

Good, tbh last nights H/ls made me feel really uncomfortable like we're watching someone have a breakdown for our entertainment

Not just me that felt that then. :wavey:

They need to bring back the psych tests IMO. Yeah it can make interesting viewing at times, but its just not right at all :/

GiRTh 01-08-2013 09:55 AM

Callum feels he's inferior so the answer is yes.
