Its a made up name to include all nations
corrupting our money with give

CaudleHalbard 07-08-2013 04:23 PM

Bongo Bongo land is a way of referring to Africa with contempt.

Maybe in the 80s, not since they all put on suits and tried to make themselves the respectable face of racism

Sure but he also spoke of India and South America

Why are they corrupting our food money for weapons?

arista 07-08-2013 05:52 PM

He was just live on Ch5HD Newstalk
he has confirmed he will not use that term again.

Has had loads of emails on his side
about Our Money being corrupted
as it is sent for aid abroad

arista 07-08-2013 06:47 PM

On Ch4 News
unlike Ch5HD Newstalk
http://www.channel4.com/media/images...h-gm-l_SML.png
Krishnan Guru-Murthy refused to talk about Oversea Money
even thougth the MEP said he will not use "bong bongo land"
Krishnan turned into a BBC reporter
and would Only talk about Bongo Bongo.

The MEP took the ear piece out
and said if you refuse to talk about our stolen money
its not worth it.

Ch4News bugger you

Jesus. 07-08-2013 06:50 PM

Oversea aid money
going to fund weapons.

Billions of pounds worth

" Foreign aid. F18s for Pakistan.
We need a new squadron of F18s.
Who’s got the squadrons? Pakistan, where we send the money."

Livia 08-08-2013 10:35 AM

If we're going to have a discussion about foreign aid, I'd be happy to take part. But not off the back of some ridiculous man who has been voted into a position of power by a gullible public, and who can't even comprehend how his comments might have been seen as racist. The man is a fool.

I think he knew his comments would get more publicity than if he had not used the Bongo Bongo term! ;)

I don't think he knew anything of the sort. I don't think he has any kind of media savvy. I think he has a massive sense of entitlement because some casual racists have voted him into a position of power, and it was to those people he was aiming his remarks. I think that he thought he was safe to say those things... because like I said, he's a fool.

I think so too. There was no ulterior motive to get into the media. He just said something stupid because he didn't think.

CaudleHalbard 08-08-2013 10:44 AM

There are plenty of casual racists around, especially amongst the older generation. My best mate's grandma, in her 90s, talks about "darkies" and generally uses politically incorrect language. :D

But she's not actually racist and would be horrified to be described as such.

Imagining he had an ulterior motive in this case is flattering him with an intellect he just doesn't have.

My grandmother, who came to this country as a refugee after the war, would hate to think anyone thought she was racist. But I can't get her to call people black, she will insist on calling them coloured. Not a massive insult probably, and it isn't meant as an insult, but the older generation do struggle with the PC terminology, I think.

Z 08-08-2013 10:53 AM

I think it's just an attitude that will die with that generation. My grandmother was the same.

How £1billion of your cash is being used to help Nigeria join the space race

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...#ixzz2bSPGSnaQ

This is wrong

"Nigeria is spending millions to put a man
into space – as Britain hands it more
than £1billion in foreign aid.
The oil-rich country, which has accepted
£300million this year alone, has set in train
ambitious plans to launch its own rockets."
