Luke A should have never won despite him being a nice guy. His 2 teammates were in the final - Deana, one of my favourite female HMs, and Adam, an even nicer guy who offered a little bit more in my opinion. The only reason he got the win is because he is transgender.

differne places have different culture which produce different types of people, different values, different mind sets etc some nations for example who are used to being oppressed find it harder for their individuals to rise up and seize control and lead their nations. every nation has a different culture, every place too. wales especially has a culture of its own and is generally more conservative in its value system.

Geordie Shore?

Only way is Essex?

Made in Chelsea?

You could pick elements from all cultures but in general the Welsh are good, decent honest people like in all parts of the U.K and I've never been to the R.O.I but I'm sure they are fantastic people in general too.

Exactly, the Welsh are no different to any other country. There's good people and there's bad people. Which is why this thread is silly :joker:

That's got nothing to do with how nice we think they are, it's playground banter.

Them calling us limey's or Nigel's or pom's doesn't bother me at all.

99% of English people know that all those nationalities have a majority of good people in them.

thegatfather 20-08-2013 12:46 PM

there are different cultures in different places. otherwise why does every city, town, village, anthem, audience, etc etc etc have an atmosphere and a culture all of its own....I reject the paul McCartney claim people are the same wherever you go....people are different wherever you go....yes you give everyone a chance and never prejudge, but different places do have different cultures, different value system, different work ethics, different everything. wales has its own culture, which is totally lost on the English. similarly the scots have a totally different culture based on a totally different education system. overall the scots are vastly more worldly wise and knowledgeable overall than the other 3 UK nations.

Aye ok then yet you prejudice the English by saying the Welsh culture is lost on us and we aren't as worldly wise as the Scots, despite being the main instigator in a worldwide empire..

Does the St. George's flag offend you? Are you ashamed to be one of us?

no I respect all nations flags. the welsh culture is lost on the English and the scots are better educated than the welsh irish and English. why are you saying only England are offended by the scots having a better education system?

Because I'm not Welsh or Northern Irish so I can't be outraged for them.

I am half Scottish though and I wouldn't particularly see them as better educated than any of my English family, in fact a lot of them are regularly at odds with the law.

I won't go and say though that the Scots are more troublesome cos I'm not like that...

I would understand it I wanted to live there, I don't understand Mayan culture or the Mongols or the ancient feudal systems of the Japanese doesn't mean all my fellow countrymen are.

And why do I specifically need to understand Welsh culture?

How to be Scottish: 1. Eat deep fried Mars Bars.
2. Wear a skirt
3. Hunt Haggis
4. Believe in the Loch Ness Monster
5. Blame everything on England
6. Speak unintelligibly
7. Enjoy bagpipe noise
8. Say "Och aye the noo"
9. Drink nothing but whisky
10. Enjoy dreek weather

Fortunately, no one generalises about the English. Do they.

You said 'the English' and made it look like it was a bad thing.

I am not 'the English' I am an 'Englishman' and what I do or do not know about another culture does not represent the rest of my country.

I presume your being sarcastic (lowest form of wit) and yes everyone gets generalized about and there is usually at least some truth to the caricatures

generally the English do not understand welsh culture, no doubt because much of what is taught is so different in the welsh and English education systems

Seems nowadays that everything negative about England is fair game as if we are personally responsible for the misdeeds of the past and that every other nation has a squeaky clean record.
