Its up on last years summer launch so its a good figure.

You cant really compare summer series with winter ones tbh I always compare it to the previous summer.

Summer and winter CBB's just seem like 2 different shows.

Really pleased with that rating, it's done much better than I expected it to. Very surprising when it had such little advertising.

thom_bombadil 23-08-2013 12:43 PM

Tellymix have said that with +1, the overnight ratings stood at 2.85m, with a peak of over 3 million viewers. Actually pretty good for a summer series. They will probably increase when BARB release the official ratings in a couple of weeks.

thom_bombadil 23-08-2013 12:45 PM

That being said, they're still overdoing it.

I agree with that your saying.

However, surely Ben Frow realises that at this rate they're gunna have to re-use the same celebritys...Must be running out of options.

And when you go for people like Danielle Marr, even Mr Motivator was linked (prob a standby) then you really are scrapping the barrel. Imagine a whole cast full of non-celebritys like Danielle Marr?

For that reason alone i'd scrape the summer series, or it truly will impact the jan version. Mind it's obvious every jan edition will have the novelty act from x factor in their.

Danielle was clearly chosen for her diva-ish personality rather than her fame.

Slightly off topic but Ben Frow has mentioned BB14's ratings in a press release about the channel's return to original drama:

Ben Frow, Director of Programmes Channel 5 said “Along with our new drama we’ve got other new commissions that I think keep the channel fresh and exciting. Big Brother this year has performed better than ever before and these new shows – and the many more we are also working on add texture and diversity to the schedule and will play nicely alongside the rest of the schedule”

A peak of 3m with no real star celeb is fine enough.

@TVRatingsUK: #CelebrityBigBrother continued last night averaging 2.05m/10.4% on Channel 5. #CBB

Hope +1 inflates that figure

We could see CBB ratings about the same as BBs

Slightly disappointing

Decent share though, hope it picks up a bit soon.

It won't have 2.85 again, but no one should realistically have been expecting it to, there's always a drop off after the launch, particularly when the launch rates well, a lot of the additional viewers on launch night are just the curious, tuning in to mock the new lot, and because it's live and an event.

jackc1806 24-08-2013 02:02 PM

2,155,000 with +1

Tonight will be like 1.5m- be prepared guys ;)

Yup, up 180k on the first Saturday of last summer (1.46m), with a 1.8% higher share (7% vs 8.8%). Promising.
