They shouldn't have put Ron in if they are afraid of the word, Carol did not use it in an offensive way at all, she was just explaining what was said.

Withano 24-08-2013 10:15 PM

Big Brother (correctly so) said that they deemed her language unacceptable.

Big Brother didn't say she was racist, they only said how her language was unacceptable and they were correct.

Good luck with that.

Big Brother now needs to give themselves a warning because they used the N word in the same context as Carol did - ie not saying to 'be' racist but highlighting it as an example of racism

Such is the logic of the warning

Agreed. It's quite laughable Carol repeating the wording can be seen as 'offensive' yet putting the man in who famously used it is fine.

Doesn't matter if it was used in an offensive way or not. Just using the word is unacceptable and would be offensive to loads of people watching.

Oh and are We forgetting someone was kicked out for using it before? Not sure why this whole "BB is so PC now" thing is starting.

Exactly, and guess what Paper is trumpeting it for Sunday's edition! If they hadn't broadcast that few seconds out of the 24 hours worth that they had to play with, The Sunday Smut would have had no headline!

What about when people call women slags and *****s - how is that any less offensive - I don't see bb warning anyone about such blatant sexist language.

It's all pc garbage.

She said that aswell give her another one!

Livia 24-08-2013 10:21 PM

I think, even after all this time, people still underestimate the negative connotations of the N word. Strange really... it's not a hard thing to remember.

Jemal 24-08-2013 10:21 PM

This meltdown is pure comedy. You would think someone died.

So it's ok for Big Brother to say it when they quote someone else's use of the word

But it's not ok for Carol say it when she quote's someone else's use of the word

That makes sense!!

Ammi 24-08-2013 10:23 PM

..all they really had do is to tell her that she used the same word that he used which had caused so much offence originally without actually quoting the word themselves, they've just made themselves look stupid...

fingers 24-08-2013 10:24 PM

It is all a PC storm in a teacup brewed up by BB to create a headline for one of Desmond's papers.

Am I not allowed an opinion because I'm white? I just find it hypocritical they reward Ron by paying him to go in the house when he's been racist, that's the main reason he's probably been offered the role but then give somebody a warning for simply repeating his words.
