News article - Big Brother house to open to the public

James has posted a new TiBB frontpage article.

Quote:

The National Trust is to open the Big Brother House to the public On Friday 27th and Saturday 28th September.

Visitors to the iconic house, located at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, will get a 80-minute guided tour which includes a visit to the Diary Room and an exploration of the living areas and internal and external spaces.

Tickets are available from the National Trust website and cost £16 or £12 for Trust members, and are issued on a first come, first served basis . Tours will leave every half hour between 10am and 6pm. The National Trust will also offer a guidebook to the Big Brother house.

I'm hoping they add extra dates due to popular demand. I emailed national trust and requested it, ha ha. Hope everyone that has been lucky enough to get tickets has an AMAZING time!! x

That's a good sign for us and will shut a lot of the doubters up who thought that BB was nowhere near good enough to do this. :)

If this is successful (which if they've sold out already it looks like it will be), I do hope they'll put more dates on or make this an annual thing, rather than a one-off.

I have always thought they should open it up to the public but never in my life did I think they actually would...especially not the National Trust either :o

When I heard "National Trust" and "Opening BB house" today, I actually had to look at the calendar to maker sure it was not April 1st. Very pleasantly surprised :D

Is it a tour just round the interior or do you go through the camera runs too? :amazed:

Shaun 09-09-2013 09:39 PM

what a saddening representation of modern culture

Rob! 09-09-2013 10:43 PM

The national Trust loving BB

If the event has sold out ALREADY - this surely means they'll do it again....next time...next time.... :(

Everyone who goes MUST take a **** load of pictures :(

I can't believe she used the word tawdry either given the fact she's clearly never watched and she made some pretty horrific television on that dancing show.

She presented "Cleverdicks", for god's sake.

Tregard 09-09-2013 11:38 PM

Northern Ireland, damn :/

It's a bit silly and surprising that it's a National Trust thing but I don't think it's a bad idea on it's own and I don't see anything wrong with opening it up in general, some people have an interest in visiting TV/film sets...hence why I'd love to go and had to get a ticket.
