David Beckham has chosen Miami as his location for a MLS Franchise that he got as a deal for transferring into the league.

More than likely the next expansion franchise will probably be Atlanta. The final location of the 4 new clubs ready by 2020 will probably not be in the Southeast.

I kinda wonder where MLS is going next in expanding it's Brand in the US. With the growing popularity of English Premier League in the US I wouldn't be surprised in the next 10 or so years that a Regulation and Promotion system is implemented within US Soccer. I don't think it should be implemented for now (With NASL being the second tier possibly renamed MLS2, and USL Pro renamed MLS3 and the Third tier). Baaad idea to do so. I also wonder if they might crown a winner at the end of the season instead of a playoff system? I think that could bring in new fans in the US.

BBfanUSA 31-10-2013 01:18 AM

Two Managers have been sacked so far Chicago Fire's which failed to make the playoffs by 3 goals and Vancouver Whitecaps FC's manager as well which failed to make the playoffs by 3 points.

Ironically the worst team DC United has yet to sack theirs.

Oh and the first knockout game, Colorado @ Seattle is tonight, less than 15 minutes away.

BBfanUSA 31-10-2013 01:19 PM

Seattle won last night 2-0, Evans scored in the 28th Minute and Eddie Johnson scored off a Dempsey assist in the 93rd minute.

Meaning they face Portland in the 1 vs 4 Home and Home Series. This is actually the MLS' front office dream come true since Portland and Seattle hate each other. This is basically the equivalent of Real Madrid vs Barca in the MLS.

BBfanUSA 01-11-2013 08:18 PM

Houston Dynamo beat Montreal Impact 3-0 meaning they're facing New York Red Bulls in the conference Semifinals.

The Conference Semifinals begin tomorrow night with
Sporting Kansas City @ New England Revolution (2 vs 3, Eastern Conference) 8:00 ET
and
Portland Timbers @ Seattle Sounders FC (1 vs 4, Western Conference) 10:00 ET
Note: The conference semis and Finals are played in a Home and Home Format. So there is a 2nd leg

BBfanUSA 03-11-2013 01:20 AM

If anyone is up, Seattle vs Portland's 1st Leg is up next. The Crowd looks amazing and the Emerald City Supporters' Club would make some European Clubs Jealous. NBCSN is the US Channel.

Oh and this is a Derby.

BBfanUSA 06-11-2013 09:37 PM

The Eastern Conf. Semis 2nd legs are tonight

Sporting Kansas City Host New England Revolution Current score is 2-1 NE Revs
and
New York Red Bulls host Houston Dynamo Current score is 2-2

tomorrow are the Western Conf Semis

Portland Timbers host Seattle Sounders FC 2-1 Timbers
Real Salt Lake Host Los Angeles Galaxy 1-0 Galaxy

BBfanUSA 19-11-2013 09:36 PM

Bumping this for big news,

Orlando City is expected to be introduced as a MLS Club officially today, Last week they said look for two Major announcements. With Major in bold. First announcement was a renewed sponsor deal.

And the 2nd legs of the conference finals are this weekend.

Saturday
Houston Dynamo @ Sporting Kansas City (Tied at 0-0)

Sunday
Real Salt Lake @ Portland Timbers (RSL leads 4-2 on Agr.)

Note: If it's tied on agr after 90 minutes, they'll play two 15 min Extra halfs, no golden goal, PK if it's still tied after that.

Toronto FC has picked up Jermaine Defoe, will be the highest payed player in the MLS.

http://sports.nationalpost.com/2013/...-defoe-report/

Toronto was one of the worst teams last season, but it's obivious that they don't want to be that next season (Starts in March Schedule has been determined)

Also MLS Cup Final will be Real Salt Lake against Sporting Kansas City

BBfanUSA 05-12-2013 04:58 PM

The final is this weekend, Supposed to be extremely chilly. 19 Degrees Fahrenheit. 3:00PM Central US time. ESPN, so more than likely BT sports will have it. Can't find the international airings thing for some damn reason.

I'll be rooting for SKC but I expect RSL to win it, wouldn't mind that, Great team

Novo will like this, Chicago Fire's Mike Magee has been declared the season's MVP...despite his team not making the playoffs (Although Mike was transferred there from LA Galaxy midseason)

And the Defoe story is just a rumor according to TFC...Bull****. He's coming over in the January window.

BBfanUSA 04-02-2014 10:20 PM

Well, Preseason has begun and here's some news

LA Galaxy has formed LA Galaxy II in the USL Pro, which is the third tier league in the US.
This isn't a surprise and a smart move by them, because thier academy is pretty good in the US. Seattle Sounders FC and FC Dallas are also rumored to make their own B/II teams. (And Yes, All MLS Sides have Academy teams, Philadelphia Union even made their own High School)

Beckham's Club in Miami is set to be introduced tomorrow. They don't have an official location to place a new Soccer Specific Stadium yet but it's rumored to be on an island just off the Port of Miami. 2016 is the start date for them.

I've never really read into it myself yet but saw that rumbling around on twitter. I'd say it's possible given that Seattle just completed the transfer option on Montero.

The Current US TV Deal with ESPN and NBCSN ends this year as well (it's always planned to end on WC years) it was worth a pretty poor amount a year. But The New Deal which will be with ESPN and Fox Sports starting in 2015, is expected to be worth 75 Million a year for the English US rights alone according to Forbes. The Deal hasn't been confirmed yet but it's bouncing around for quite a long time.

Drew. 05-02-2014 12:47 AM

Big names will be joining the MLS within the next year or 2.. It's already begun with Defoe. So many players we grew up with are coming to the end of their careers and America is the perfect place for them to finish.

BBfanUSA 05-02-2014 01:56 PM

Beckham to make his press announcement right here in a few minutes
http://www.mlssoccer.com/beckham-miami-announcement

BBfanUSA 14-02-2014 03:02 PM

Toronto is adding to their starstudded lineup. They have picked up QPR keeper Julio Caesar on loan. Is also Brazil's top keeper.

Drew. 14-02-2014 03:10 PM

Are they going to continue getting players or is this their wage/transfer budgets gone?

http://i.imgur.com/Ig81B74.png

BBfanUSA 14-02-2014 04:19 PM

Their budget should be mostly gone if it isn't already. Toronto's owners are rich but the average budget for an MLS Side is Not alot of cash compared to Europe. They're only allowed to spend so much of their money anyway.

The most valuable side according to Forbes is Seattle, since they paid a 30 million entrance fee, They've more than tripled that I think.

Also somehow a bunch of trustworthy US outlets thought that the rumor about Beckham calling his club Miami Vice was real...including ESPN and they reported it as if it was just announced. MLS reps denied that. Oh thank god, I have no problem with giving clubs nicknames but Vice sounds horrid.

BBfanUSA 20-02-2014 08:09 PM

The MLS has bought Chivas USA, there are a bunch of ownership groups interested in the club but MLS has to approve, which is why they have decided to hold on the club for now.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/articl...ampaign=Unpaid

Eariler this week, Chivas USA filed trademarks for Los Angeles SC and Los Angeles FC so they were thinking of at least a rebrand.

Thank god too, they were horribly managing it.

BBfanUSA 04-03-2014 09:52 PM

Season Starts this Saturday with Sporting KC @ Seattle Sounders at 3:30 ET, Game will be televised in the US on NBCSN.

There's a few other clubs playing this weekend, Toronto isn't this weekend. Their first game will be against Seattle on the 15th televised on NBCSN as well.

BBfanUSA 08-03-2014 07:24 PM

Seattle and SKC are playing right now and have just kicked off.

2014 MLS season is underway!

BBfanUSA 15-03-2014 03:43 PM

Well Toronto FC and Seattle are playing today at 4 ET in the US

Should be a fun game, Defoe and Caesar are making their MLS Debuts and Bradley is making his return (He played for NY Metro Stars (Now NYRB) when he was younger) against Seattle and Dempsey, Martins, Evans.

Drew. 15-03-2014 06:32 PM

Time to properly follow the MLS this season.

Seattle - Toronto live on BT spport 2 at 8:30, Defoe starting.

Drew. 15-03-2014 07:55 PM

Defoee!!! Great finish

Drew. 15-03-2014 08:02 PM

:joker: hes done it again, 2 in 20 minutes

BBfanUSA 15-03-2014 08:03 PM

As a Sounders fan I don't really want to watch right now.
