I hate too much dry heat, but I do have to put it on for the kids and OH obviously,I usually just leave it on lowish all night, while I have a fan by my side of the bed, lol,I crank it up when it's really cold, but if we light the fire first thing in the morning that's usually enough to be comfortable.

I don't put mine on till about 12 noon as im out walking dogs in the morning and I hate being too hot 1st thing as I cant get awake properly. so its goes on about 12 noon for about an hour then it goes on evening till I actually get too hot.

I'm not sure what the thermostats at tbh.
Our heating switches on at 7 in the morning until 9 then again at 9pm until 11pm and if we want to we just put it on between those times too. We have 2 oil heaters we use along with that too. |
Our house is well insulated so quite warm to start with.
No heating on today as yet, had it on an hour yesterday then it was too hot. I don't get why people have the thermostat up to summer temperatures. When it goes on it is set at 15...and I only set it on timed when our son says it is too cold to get up or work on a morning. My bedroom radiator is turned off, as is the guest bedroom and utility..if it goes too hot downstairs I open the kitchen door. Once the really cold winter sets in I consider turning it up a bit, we have never slept with it on through the night. When the kids were little it went off before they went to bed. Oh yes I agree about real fires, I would love one...we make do with the one in my avatar , quite real looking and easy to turn on. |
