I'm surprised so many people are not organ donors here. almost a third are not, that's very surprising to me.
I always thought it was obvious that you should want your body be used to help others when you die. It just seems obvious to me that it's the right thing to do. Just like that movie Alive, they had to eat a dead body to stay alive. i don't care if they ate me after i die. it doesn't bother me at all if it helps them stay alive. After you die, either you go to another place, or maybe there is nothing after death, but either way, we all should agree that once your body is dead it is worthless to you, so why do you care what happens to it? |

is this real life?
|
Yes.
I am down for it already, if anything happened to me, if I can then be used to save other lives, then for me there is little to think about as to that. |
Never

Yes absolutely, I'll be dead I won't need them but it could save someones life........it's a no brainer really

I agree Niamh.. My aunt spent most if her life on kidney dialysis. Thanks to a transplant, she spent the last 10 years of her life living relatively normally..
I'd love to think that after I die, parts of my body can be used to save somebody else's life. |
We should definitely change the law to an opt out system. They can have anything of mine they want, or they could put me in a museum so future generations don't forget me. Their call really.

I just could not go through the surgery & the thought of it makes me feel ill, I would like too, but I just couldn't do it, also the unknown and stuff
|
I am, it seems like it should be legally mandatory actually. I mean you're dead, there's not much you can do with them.
