I'm not actually sure, I know Remembrance Sunday is a thing but at school (if we were there) we'd have a silence at 11am on the 11th of November?

Yes,I'm sure you are right,I suppose Sunday is a better day to honour it.

I don't think I've ever wore a poppy -I know that sounds bad don't start having a go idgaf-

But I always make sure I do a 2 minute silence during the day and remember our fallen heroes, I have so much respect for them.

I'll do the silence some years when I remember but I was hungover and asleep this morning so

Usually buy a poppy too but...and I know this sounds bad...because I actually think they look nice. I'd wear one all year if it were socially acceptable

Lots of respect to the cause though

I was actually painting this morning with music blaring. I shall do it tomorrow.

Yeah the proper anniversary is the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

I went to the Cenotaph today and met up with some of the lads from my husband's regiment. It's a very emotional time for me, and many, many others sadly. I always remember, and not just since I lost my husband. My father was a soldier too, and brought me up to remember the sacrifice. I'm really heartened to see so many people on the forum supporting this. Not just remembering those who've died, but supporting those who live with injuries they received on active service.

I've lost track of the amount of poppies I've purchased and lost over the years but usually try and do the silence if I remember.

I get emotional too Livia, not for the reasons you do,but I think of all those families who get that dreaded knock on the door,I wasn't about in the war, neither were my mom and dad I don't think, but ,my grandparents were,I do know how brave they all are and I love to listen to stories about their times back then,I am sorry for your loss, without these brave people who knows how we'de be living.

I always buy a poppy or two and wear them with pride as I remember the sacrifices our Soldiers have made down throughout the many Wars and conflicts.

It doesn't hurt to stop and remember these men and women who have paid the ultimate price and made the ultimate sacrifice for their Country.

After I wipe away a tear or two my emotions then turn from sadness to anger at the stupidity of it all , the utter madness of the First World War where a whole generation of young men were sacrificed for what ? . If you ever watched the the last episode of Blackadder goes fourth you get a wonderful funny but sad insight into the futility of that war.

I hope everyone stops today and remembers our fallen heroes on this day of remembrance !!!

My mum was telling me how devastated her dad got speaking about war, he lost many family members who were 'Bradford Pals', he was also a serviceman.

" We will remember them"
