This is why I am glad Luke didn't win. When XF finalist wins (bar James who's single wasn't too bad), the winner has to do a cheesy ballad. Never uptempo. Ballads pull at heart strings, sell to ITV1 audience, lend themselves to charity sounds, suit bland XF winners journey videos and appeal to masses and don't align do tight to a genre. Uptempo songs tend to align to a genre eg hip hop, rock , dance and therefore won't appeal to ITV1 viewers who are largely over 30+ I suspect.

I know. I don't want Luke to do ballads. He's rock guy!

Rock can have ballads to them though, but the difference is they have a bit of life and an atmosphere to them, Sam Bailey's type of Pop Music does not seem to have that at all, especially on a song like Skyscraper where an atmospheric performance is needed.

I agree, but i doubt they'd have given anything good for him to sing. Just cheese. :joker:

Sam's single won't flop. She's currently getting the Harry Styles "route one treatment" ie the PR guys are plugging loads of stories about her on Daily Mail (very popular eebsite whether we like it or not ). It's also getting a fair amount of airplay.

I think he'd have done well with When You're Gone, but oh well I guess.

His EP is very good though which is good to see.

We don't even know if that's his winners single. I need to know. I'm so curious!

As bland lacking in star quality and cruise ship as i think Sam is, I do not want her first single to flop especially as it's for charity so I'll buy it then delete it.

Now see James Arthur's new video for Recovery. Opinions

And who has that star quality for you - some young thing who, when done up to the nines, does it for you. No doubt the sight of them first thing in the morning might be somewhat of a disappointment to you.

Younger sexy females are more marketable. If Sam sang Wrecking Ball it wouldn't sell as much as Miley....

Although she would sing it much better. Says it all about pop music and the audience.

Those successful in the charts tend to have short-lived careers as it is fickle and second-rate - a few lucky ones will scratch out a career, when it is all over, as presenters or such like.

I would imagine Sam isn't too bothered about pop music and the fickle charts when there are other areas of music where she is much more likely to be successfull, where careers also tend to last longer as the music is popular for the right reasons.
