Lionel is old school, because he was in the company of men he felt it was okay to talk about it, I couldn't see him bringing this up in front of any of the women in there. Yes it does make him a hypocrite but is is a generational thing.

He wasn't only talking about a book, he was talking about Jasmine and making insinuations about her and what she might have done with Dappy the night before, that's crude and very ungentlemanly. As ungentlemanly as jasmine was unladylike
