They should have planned this out a bit better! One hour for highlight and an eviction with no BOTS after could lead to a very boring night. If there was no way of changing the schedules further then Friday just gone should have just been a double eviction!

Maybe they expect Lee or Casey out next and didn't want to risk either being booed quite loudly, hence a surprise eviction.

An hours show is a bit annoying but they can still make it work, normally on the 90 minute shows there's loads of faffing around with weekly recaps, talking to family members, reading out tweets etc. so it's a reduced highlights anyway, they just need to minimise all the other crap tonight and just have solid highlights till quarter to then the eviction
