shame on him, and shame on us. |
Indeed. The reason rape and abuse is so common is because people like me think its a waste of time reporting it years later when theres no chance of there being evidence..and after theres been menntion of compensation

I was talking about the law, Alex. In a court of law you need evidence. Sadly, human being cannot be relied upon to tell the truth. The accused man could be telling the truth. Then what? You're just going to buy the biggest sob story and to hell with the facts? |
Didnt know anyone was asking for compensation from the floods tbh..people want help with accomodation and such and rebuilding their homes..which isnt too unreasonable given that the government could have at the very least lessened the damage if they had had any sense
|
Dont see what the floods have to do with hundreds of women claiming to have been raped after the news mentions compensation for saville victims though

Here we go again , sadly
http://media.skynews.com/media/image...-1-522x293.jpg today going to Court Dave Lee Travis To Face Sex Assault Retrial http://news.sky.com/story/1216316/da...ssault-retrial |
I think they have to try and force a conclusion on this as he would have had these other two charges still not refuted in a court of law. So hopefully this trial will be the quickest in History with the verdict a reasounding NOT GUILTY
Hopefully he can clear his name 100%............ |
I really think this is a pathetic decision by the CPS, this is another likely waste of court time and money.
A jury couldn't make a decision but we have no idea how big the split was. Bearing in mind he was found not guilty on all the other counts and that indeed on any of the charges, the judge was willing to accept a 10-2 majority verdict, then clearly the split on these were even wider. I see no point at all, although admittedly I don't know the details of the case,in bringing this to court again. |
"...but now bareback in court."

quack quack
OOPS |
Prosecutors seek a retrial for the former Radio 1 DJ on one count
of indecent assault and another of sexual assault. http://media.skynews.com/media/image...-1-626x352.jpg DLT The Nightmare Goes On |
Is that Jimmy Saville inbetwixt him and his wife?

No his legal team |
I suspect they will get the conviction on those two charges at the retrial, and he will be sent down for the maximum time, with the CPS then appealing against the leniency of the sentence.
After all, a previous jury could not acquit him of those charges, so there must be something in them. (No smoke and all that...) |

Unless of course there is new evidence or some other reason then I cannot understand why they would be happy for this poor man to be dragged through the Courts again. You have to feel a certain sympathy for him. |
I think whatever the make up of the jury in the new trial, because again he is certainly not going to plead guilty, that they will be well versed as to the publicity of this case and will not be likely able to come to an impartial decision as to it really.
I know were I to be called to the jury for this one, I would be thinking of his not guilty verdicts for so many other charges. I would likely afford him thefull benefit of the doubt and not have enough certainty at all to find him guilty. I also think that is what the verdict will be whenever it comes this time round too. |
Sadly charged again
[Dave Lee Travis Charged With Indecent Assault Dave Lee Travis is to be charged with one count of indecent assault, weeks after being cleared of 12 separate counts of indecent assault. Travis was cleared of 12 charges of indecent assault earlier this year but two charges remained undecided. At Southwark Crown Court today he heard he will now be charged with a further count of indecent assault. Prosecutor Miranda Moore told the court today that the former DJ is expected to face a trial on the two outstanding charges.] http://news.sky.com/story/1233569/da...decent-assault |
more wasting police time, it beggars belief
|
Come on, they need a win, so the more charges, the better the chances of taking him down, after all they can't get Jimmy Saville, grant them their indulgences...
|
3 months suspended sentence
|
Watch the DPP appeal the gross leniency of that sentence, saying he should have got life without parole, doing hard labour breaking rocks in solitary confinement etc..
