I have something called crohns disease I was diagnosed in 2009 and im on medication for it. I go for regular hospital checks. It is inflammation of your bowel and before I was diagnosed with it I thought it might be cancer. You cant get off the toilet and have constant diaroeahha and pains that someone once told me were worse than labour pains (I don't have kids so cant compare) I also take 1 codeine a day for it now but when it was it was really bad I was on 8 30mg codeine per day as well as 8 paracetamols.
Ive also got carpol tunnel in my hands and sciatica in my back oh and @ the moment ive got a fungal nail infection lol |
Thankfully most of my illnesses or conditions are physical not mental. These are on show and are accepted by Society.
Mental Illness is hidden from the casual friend or stranger so it is more of a shock when you admit to people that you are mentally ill........most people react to that with shock and suspicion and then pigeonhole you into a category that means you are discriminated against from that moment onwards........!!!! |
I am deaf in my left ear, have been since a small child and although it cant be seen it is sometimes extremely embarrassing especially when groups are talking and people talk in a soft voice,I can hear with my right one fine so do hear normal everyday stuff, but if say ,I lie in bed watching TV ,I have to lie on my left side so I can hear it, people with a certain tone of voice I find quite difficult and sometimes I get mistaken for being ignorant,I'm not I don't don't hear sometimes, and that tightness you get Vicky, does it feel like cramp? as I have it sometimes,I cant move but have always put it down to cramp.

Might be the same thing, could affect people dfferently. But I honestly just st and cry until the codeine kicks in.thats how bad it is. And I consider myself to have a high pain tolerance too :( |
No physical or mental illnesses.
I have a couple of OCD tendencies but not full blown OCD. |
