Isn't crapping on people the definition of ruthlessness though? A lack of care about others and all that.

I don't like ruthless people. whether that makes them good or bad, i don't know, but i certainly don't care to surround myself with ruthless people.

I enjoy watching ruthless people get their just desserts. What goes around comes around.

I guess that's one definition. It seems to me that in certain circles of business, ruthlessness in men is quite highly regarded, while it's frowned upon from women. This may be just my perception. I need thetruth to come and put me right on that one.

To me, ruthless means overly competitive people, people who want to win at any cost. It's okay to want to be successful, but success doesn't mean that everyone else has to lose.

Ruthless people don't try to find win/win solutions, they think that their success depends on destroying other people. Instead of trying to raise themselves up, they try to tear down everyone else.

Yeah, it's a lack of compassion for others.

I feel sorry for eveyone, except those people who are always mean to me.

its the worst trait we have as english people. we save to wallow in being cold and ruthless.....its something that shames me of being english sometimes.....stoicism is great, stiff upper lip isnt so great and when it becomes a cold ruthless detachment it fast becomes disturbing. Ive found in my travels people from other parts of the world seem far warmer than us in many places

I think thats totally untrue. In fact Id say in general these days women are far far more ruthless

..yeah, a lack of compassion/heartlessness etc..I don't think that many people would be 'ruthless' with that actual definition but I understand what Livia means in that I think that if you work in a male dominated environment and one that is largely opposed to females in higher positions, then you have to be very focused and I think that is a more accurate way to describe it...

..but no, I wouldn't say I was a ruthless person, I don't think many people are..in terms of my job though, I don't work in a competitive environment so I don't really feel any pressure like some people do...when it comes to keeping 'clutter' and stuff though, I am fairly 'ruthless' with not hanging on to too many things..

Ruthless is just an excuse to be a c v n t.

Synonyms are cruel, heartless, pitiless, merciless, callous, cold-blooded, unsympathetic etc.

Not good attributes.

Its not good if you run a children's nursery but i would imagine that if you are the head of a Mexican drug cartel it can be useful

or being the president of Russia.

I love the way some people can be totally Ruthless and trample all over someone, cause them immense grief which can affect that person's health and their relationship with their family..........and then justify it all by saying

"Its just Business"....
