He'll be 'proud to be dropped' sign to an indie label and flop hard with his new stuff, predictable story arc

ironic.

JA seem to really struggle with mental health issues.

However it does seem like he wanted to be axed from Syco.

Thank god he's been dropped, it's been a long time coming,

Z 05-04-2014 11:34 PM

Deserved

Vicky. 05-04-2014 11:43 PM

Erm..in context the rap doesnt seem that bad?

Its kinda like stan was for eminem tbh..

Syco will have been looking for a reason to drop him anyway as hes male (and not a cute band), and lets be honest, hes gave them plenty

Brother Leon 06-04-2014 12:08 AM

Those lyrics are tame as hell. There is so much worse out there just playing the topic of terrorism never mind worse lyrics on other topics. But yeah, Syco is a pop label for kids/teen girls mostly so I see why they dropped him in the end. He tried too hard to be some sort of underground singer/rapper when he's a XF winner FFS.

Edit: I bet his lyrics are going to be made out to be so bad in the press when in Reality it's just tame, and very basic(****) rap lyric lol.

Tom4784 06-04-2014 12:11 AM

What a ****ing wreck he is. He squandered his opportunities by being a **** and he deserves the unrelenting obscurity that he's going to sink back into.

A music source said: “He’s blown it now. James was given a lot of special treatment that no other artist signed to a record label like Syco would get.

“It’s a very sad and messy way for this to all end.”
D: I hope this source was fired.

I doubt it was the actual lyrics that got him fired, they were probably just the excuse given to justify dropping him. He'd had it a long time coming. It's fine being mouthy if you're providing the goods to justify it (e.g. Lily Allen, Cheryl Cole in Girls Aloud etc) but if you're just bringing a lot of bad press and not producing anything worthwhile (e.g. Azealia Banks and of course James Arthur) it's just going to continue to damage you the individual, not the label. They'll have tolerated it while they thought there was a chance they could launch him as a sort of bad boy figure but it became obvious that wasn't going to be viable, he wasn't being cheeky, he was just being a ****. He has the same problem that Matt Cardle (and tbh all the male winners) have had; they go to the X Factor because it's an instant springboard to a lot of people, but then they actually win it and realise they're not willing to play the part of squeaky clean entertainer for kids and suddenly want out.

I'm more offended by how poor his lyricism is than its content.

Difference is Z, Matt Cardle is still creating and doing well.

The song "follow the leader" from the mixtape is not promoting terrorism, it's a story, a reciting of a Stan Esc letter from a demented fan.

I can only assume he wanted out, unless he is totally stupid, he has been deliberately provocative and probably wanted to be dropped so he could pursue his own style of music. Good luck to him, he needs to tone it down now though.

Oh of course and he's much better off without Syco's influence; he's a talented guy, he just got on with it after initially realising that he didn't want to be part of the Simon Cowell media circus. James Arthur hasn't, he's just mouthed off at other people since he won the X Factor and this is where it has got him.

Go back to crying over little mixs song titles

Benjamin 06-04-2014 02:42 PM

He's a twat and glad he's dropped, but those lyrics are not shocking at all, not considering other songs that are out there.
