I actually don't want her gone, I want her left there, supported strongly by this PM who has amassed criticism endlessly for his judgements.

Let her go on until the 2015 election as a reminder to the electorate as to the priorities of this Govt. and the people they support and raise up too.

Let her actions, her waste of time as an apology and her arrogance be there for all to see and remember all through the 2015 election campaign.

Oh it will be buried under a mountain of spin though by the media circus well before then, that's my worry. It's gaffe after gaffe, dodgy dealing and self regulation....Which basically means they do what they like and then cover it up.

Trying that one already...headlines about cracking down on benefit fraud and such are appearing. Need to direct peoples anger back onto those who deserve it, instead of MPs ;)

the truth 08-04-2014 11:52 AM

the ONLY reason they aint sacked her is because they know many of them have done as bad or worse and are hoping not to be further exposed

Ask IDS who is standing by maria miller whilst getting mad about the odd benefit claimant getting an extra 20 quid a week or whatever (more often due to error than actual fraud, but treated the same)

Good point Kizzy but I recall Jacqui Smith never could, and in fact still hasn't shaken off the issues she had.

Mud sometimes sticks and there are a fair few of the press after Maria Miller too.
One can hope.

Well that says everything about them and little about anyone else.
That really just shows the arrogant and wrong priorities some have in my view.

She is now as far as I can see a toxic MP and if they don't realise that soon a big price will likely be paid for her actions.

She has Now Resigned
saying it was a distraction she did not want.

Maybe the next one will be another Labour MP

Nedusa 09-04-2014 06:53 AM

Can you name one politician caught in a public scandal like this who didn't resign ?

No
not off my head

Crimson Dynamo 09-04-2014 07:40 AM

she had to go before todays pmqs as there is more good news about economy today and it would have been all about her

waterhog 09-04-2014 07:56 AM

to get all the perks - she has to go now - the anger will build and build but as they are all at it - it will be under the carpet when the next one comes along. and there is sure to be a next one as they can not help themselves.

the only way this will stop is to scrap all expenses and they have to join the rest of the working nation and pay there own way. after all staring wage of 66 k is not to hard done by.

I was at a lunch last year with Tebbit. I can report he is very much alive and serving in the House of Lords. He was right to call for her resignation, how the current government can't see that is beyond me. It's like Cameron only ever opens his mouth to change feet.

arista 09-04-2014 11:17 AM

The Fecking Labour leader wasted all his questions on this woman
even though the PM has moved on.

They should be automatically sacked, arrested and charged and live in the real bloody world with the people they represent. They may think twice about breaking the law! The whole expenses debacle needs to be seriously addressed too. It's all a damn disgrace.

I am glad he did, the only thing I was irritated at with Ed Miliband was that in response to David Cameron going on about her apologising.
Ed Miliband didn't pull him up as to the fact she only apologised because 'she was told to',she likely would never have done so voluntarily.

Of course, just as David Cameron used PMQs to get at Gordon Brown at the time of the expenses scandal, Miliband was obviously going to go at this, sadly he never gets any answers from this PM on anything.
This whole issue with Maria Miller, has again exposed the bad judgement and weak leadership of David Cameron and that needs to be exposed a lot more than it already is.

She has to pay back £5.800 for her wrongdoing and by resigning she gets another handsome pay off for doing wrong.
Unbelievable.
