Stannis destroyed the Tryell's with a few hundred men living on Rats, Cats and Shoe leather and the Onions Davos shipped in whilst the enemy feasted outside , Robb had a healthy army and beat armys that arent even worth mentioning

Half of that 6000 didn't join until the end after Robb had successfully freed them from Riverrun
