can members who have over 20,000 posts have it for free as a thank you for your contribution thing

Donations are fine, but no two tiered forum.
Perhaps donations could be kept anonymous as well.
No shame in being skint but no need for people to know either.

There is not one post/comment in this thread that would suggest you do pay to come on here, if there was a VIP Subscription feature it would be optional, for members that wanted to pay for it, that is all.
