Only Jakeyboy is
And Bonnie.

If it was one of your family members or one of your friends then you wouldn't make jokes
Have respect for fans of steve

J.C. 04-09-2006 12:52 PM

Thats really sad.It sends a shiver down my spine when I think back to a brief moment when IMO he put his young daughter at serious risk !!

Lil-Lindz 04-09-2006 12:55 PM

I watched a documentary about that
Im totally on steves side, he said he had planned it through all before, there was several teams and stuff should anything have gone wrong
But nothing did

If it were one of my friends and family members it wouldn't be getting so much publicity either

I feel guilty for finding the jokes funny now.
They're just taking things lightheartedly.
Or, they hate Steve.

But I know that his fans should be thought about, and I'm not trying to defend that, but it's also their opinion if they don't like Steve.

Just remember, he has died now, so there's not an awful lot we can do.

JakeyBoy 04-09-2006 01:01 PM

Because of Steve Irwin the "great Aussie icon" I have had to explain to people over and over again that nobody says Crikey here and we do NOT talk or dress like him. Now that makes me annoyed, so hopefully now that he is out of our lives we can show the UK and the USA the real Australia and not some "g'day mate" stereotypical fool

Chrizzle 04-09-2006 01:02 PM

Its not fair to make jokes.. its insensitive

Thats just completley selfish Jake, he did that and it gained him fans and made Australia an Icon for him and the animals he dealt with. Your just being selfish, just have some respect, he died doing what he loves best.

I know someone who died doing something they love best but do they get a whole news segment to them, no

He has made Australia the joke so now it's time for me to have some fun because now, I'll have nobody to laugh at on the TV for being stupid

You've made your point now!..
And I do agree in a way, I've always thought of Australians being all 'gday mate' and Steve did add to it.

But the fact is that he's dead now, so some sensitivity needs to shown to his fans (not that I'm suggesting that he's a God or anything).

MarkWaldorf 04-09-2006 01:06 PM

Im not going to argue, this is a sad matter. So what, your not a fan. But show at least some respect for him.

I shall respect his family, not him. This is not a matter of me being a fan or not Mark... Mr Protector of Irwin:rolleyes:

Don't say that, Jakey is a nice person, just obviously has different outlooks on things and different ways of going about stuff. He's still nice..

EDIT: Sometimes  (Sorry I just HAD to add that).

sol 04-09-2006 01:10 PM

RIP - I really enjoyed watching his shows.

MarkWaldorf 04-09-2006 01:10 PM

I thought so to, but I dont class someone who makes jokes at a death, very 'nice' to be honest.
He may have been in the public eye, but hes still normal.
I doubt Jakey would go to a funeral, and start making jokes.

Ah well you don't know me too well then

But of course you people loved him. He wasn't making a joke of your country

That was his job, I doubt hes like that really. Its his hook.
The Queen makes us English look posh and drink tea all the time. But when she dies, I aint gonna make jokes. Im not that insensitive.
Plenty of programmes (Friends, for example) have made us out to be snobs, but I still love it.

MarkWaldorf 04-09-2006 01:15 PM

Chrizzle, thats right. We have the queen, its what they do.
