Good on the posties supporting the lied to Liverpudlians!

'Postal workers in west Lancashire have said they will walk out if they are made to deliver free promotional copies of The Sun later this week.

The paper has agreed not to distribute the issues in Liverpool because of the continued anger at the way it reported the 1989 Hillsborough stadium tragedy.'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...shire-27761336

Ok well my partner is a postie and believe me they had absolutely no choice in the delivery of all this wasted paper ! It seems only Liverpools posties were let off and every other postie had no choice !
My partner was totally pissed right off as we feel exactly the same as the people of Liverpool regarding this ****e paper - So dont slag off the workers blame the management - BANG OUT OF ORDER blaming the posties

Nobody is... :conf:
I support the ones that refused, but I don't blame the ones that did for delivering it at all.

I don't think the postmen should be annoyed about it really, they aren't responsible for the content of the stuff they deliver and it isn't really their job to moralise the mail and decide what should or shouldn't be delivered

They're not corporate drones, that's a reason maybe?

joeysteele 14-06-2014 11:04 PM

Oh I can fully understand why the postmen in Liverpool want nothing to do with the SUN, if I was from the area and any of my family had been killed in the Hillsborough tragedy, I would have been fuming forever at the slander and lies that the Sun and Kelvin Mackenzie printed.
Even daring to call it the truth too.

When the real truth came out recently as to that tragedy and the Sun's headline shown to be lies, then for me that paper should have been folded up.

All the parties leaders were given it and all posed with it, should the other parties also not have refused on moral grounds as to the Sun's lies on Hillsborough.

This was apparently a 'world cup' issue, not the regular edition of the Sun. How one party leader gets chastised for posing with it while the others don't is beyond me.
Also however, when can anyone give me an instance whereby politicians ever refuse anything for free anyway.
The fact that this is even news as to the leaders posing with this free isusue of this 'comic' is a very sad and bad reflection on the media and newsworthy elements of the UK at present.

I suppose its cheaper than bog roll :idc:

Irrelevant, most of the mail they deliver day to day will be from these big corporations

Kizzy 15-06-2014 01:20 AM

Ok how many of those other corporations were complicit in covering up the real reason for the deaths of 96 people?

They actually printed total lies and made slanderous statements as to those who were killed.

For what they printed at that time, now the real truth has been hard won to be revealed, the Sun and the staff who printed those lies and slander should have been prosecuted in my view.

I won't even look that rotten paper, the only time I see anything from it is when rubbish it says is used here on tibb in threads.
This joke of a publication, along with at least one other bring all newspapers into disrepute just by the fact it is even called a newspaper.

The people of Liverpool have the right idea as to the Sun,however that doesn't mean they should criticise others for what they do with it too.
As I keep saying, because of the Hillsborough tragedy, it is deemed wrong for Ed Miliband to even touch the Sun.
Not the other 2 though.
Hardly surprising David Cameron has no problems with the Sun even after the Hillsborough real truth came out.

The Lib Dems were fairly strong in Liverpool at the time with David Alton as an MP there and on the council, again however Clegg gets nothing said as to him posing with the Sun.
Absolutely unfair and totally unbelievable.

This man is a walking ****ing disaster........... he is photographed injesting a bacon sandwich in the most horrendus embarrassing way imaginable , he is interviewed in a by-election constituency where he has no clue who the council leaders are and what party holds the council, and now is photograghed grinning like a moron holding up a copy of that most vile of tabloids as if it represents something.

It does not, it is vile and reprehensible in every way a grotesque caricature of what people really need, and the paper is pretty awful too.

Other than the bits in bold which I could agree with you are down to Ed Miliband getting in a fix, however the rest of your post I would turn the same description and criticism to both Nick Clegg and David Cameron too.

If I still had leanings to either the Conservatives or the Lib Dems,I would have still been as appalled at them posing with this vile paper as I am with Ed Miliband, so I won't just criticise him for it when the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the UK have done so too.
