I don't see a lot of difference between prostitution and some other jobs.

Stripping could be classed as 'selling your body for cash' as the clients are paying to look at your body. Same with playboy models etc. Then you have a masseuse or a physiotherapist who rubs your body for money. I'm not saying it is sexual, but it is physical contact. So if you combine the naked dancers/models job with those, you get nakedness and touching, which is really the basis of prostitution.

If the women in the industry are over 18, and doing the job of their own free will, then I see no problem at all. There are kids on the streets just now who are shockingly young, and if the whole business was legalised and above board, they would not be working in the brothels.

I personally would not like prostitution to be my job, but if a grown woman chooses that as her job, then that is her choice.

On a side note, I also think Marijuana should be legal. There are bigger issues for the police to concentrate on. Wasting time busting someone for half a joint seems like a massive waste of time to me.

I don't understand your logic here... prostitution alludes to sexual acts, dancing can be erotic and provocative but it'd not a sexual act.
Are you saying if a gynecologist examines you it's tantamount to prostitution then?

A gynaecologist is examining you for the purpose of gaining medical information, so not the same.

A masseuse is massaging you for your pleasure/satisfaction. A stripper is taking her clothes off for your visual gratification. A prostitute is providing a sexual service, whether full-on sex, or other forms of sexual gratification.

The point I was trying to make is that a prostitute is still a 'service provider' just like the other jobs mentioned.

Probably shouldn't have put 'physiotherapist' in there as they are rubbing your body for medical reasons also, but you get my overall meaning....

I wouldn't do a nursing job or be a roofer as I personally wouldn't like it, and prostitution is just the same. If you like the job and are happy to do the job, then who am I to judge whether it is right or wrong.

I see the analogy you are making BUT I have to say selling your body for money is a little bit more than a job.

Having sexual intercourse with strangers is about as humiliating as it gets. De-personalising yourself and allowing complete strangers to engage in the most personal and intimate of acts is a bit more than just another job.

Obviously I don't know what you mean, Whether or not people derive a sexual thrill from your work is irrelevant to the fact it's not prostitution in the sense intended by the OP.
If by prostituting themselves you mean using their knowledge or talent to make a financial gain by corrupt means you could apply that to other professions... solicitors, used car salesmen or estate agents.
Personally I wouldn't class dancing, modelling or stripping as prostitution in the way the OP intended as they aren't illegal.

That is such a naive view. There are married couples old and young who are swingers, doggers, cuckolds and god knows what else. Some people enjoy it.

Whether you like it or not there is a genuine need for legitimate sex workers in this world. For example, imagine you had an autistic 18 year old boy who had all of the emotions a regular 18 year old boy has but was unable to act on it due to being shunned. Where is the harm in having a woman come into the home who knows the problems, is able to deal with them and in turn satisfies the young lad, even if it is just letting him grope her for a bit?

I actually totally agree with every word of your post, but I would still maintain that people working in this field have other more altruistic reasons to help provide sexual gratification for people who struggle to find sexual relationships for a variety of reasons.

To them this is not an ordinary job and should never be classed as such, that was the point I was making in my earlier post.
