Wife has an iPhone so I could get the app, but haven't / won't. I'm not a fan of iPhones / Apple and honestly think that putting BB decisions into the hands of an ap, but not even managing to make it available for Android (the most used mobile OS by far) is ridiculous.

Yep definitely. Android has the majority of the UK market yet Emma (and the producers) has a cheek to say the power is in the hands of the 'public' hmm that will be the small minority of the public that has an ios 7 compatible device then.

Yes I think you need an iPhone 4 (maybe even 4S?) or 5. Not sure about iPads but I'm thinking maybe iPad 3.

It's got to be like less than 5% of viewers who actually have the app... and even less voting?

[edit] decided to be un-lazy and look it up, it's iPhone 4, iPad 2 and iPod Touch 5.

I have a smart phone but not a compatible one

andybigbro 27-07-2014 05:11 PM

I have a smartphone and also use the app.

Not me, I'm an old granny with a very basic phone

I can vote 3 times because I have 2 iPhones and an iPad but I tend to just vote on my iPad because I don't use those phones since I git my Galaxy S5

So you can see that the majority of us are excluded so need to panic. Obviously the younger element with the smart phones are calling the shots now but the wining votes will not be the same votes that are on the apps, they will get swamped by people like me that will throw a couple of hundred quid at people like Winston or Christopher. Paper job money and the odd unemployed votes wont go Ashleighs way.

Now before I get comments like I am not unemployed or I am not a kid, I am simply stating the obvious and general consensus opinions based on the voting demographic of votes cast, based on previous shows, so don't try to get me into trouble for this post, its a generalisation and not pointed at anyone in particular. If Ashleigh supporters are offended, then I apologise but I am not singling you out.

I actually do have an I phone but I refuse to update it to the latest IOS so it cant receive apps and I switch it on after my break fast to collect calls and texts and the off till after my tea when I do the same. I leave it on till 9pm then it goes to bed again. I also like my privacy but for the most part with call recognition, I can choose to call back those number I want to and delete the trash calls and the spam texts. Perfect and I miss nothing.

Same here, this is mine, it was top of the range when I bought it over five years ago. It's proved to be very reliable, I can make and receive calls and make and receive texts, that's all I need from a phone.
