Not Costa Rica or Argentina yet. saving those for my next massive trip around the world. Bali I have been to (most recently) and is probably one my all time faves. So friendly and beautiful over there, loads to see, do and get involved in and the cost of living is so cheap which helps.

Ooh, that sounds interesting. One of my concerns with Africa was some of the places they had the projects you had to travel miles to be able to see anything else/experience. Sounds kind of selfish when you're supposed to be going to help them. But I want a cheeky holiday too. :hehe:

No,no and never.
Totally different to when we lived there.
Improved by million per cent because apartheid is abolished, but far too much crime and corruption now.
Much preferred living in Zimbabwe..before that despot Mugabe ruined it.

In all honesty,I could not live with all those snakes now. I shudder just thinking about it.

have a wonderful time! :amazed: you're so lucky travelling so much.

Watch out for Robbers

Take Care Ben.

I have absolutely no desire to ever travel south of the equator. the only exception being Australia/NZ but they are northern countries for all intents and purposes, and are separated by vast oceans from real southern countries. ben you get off on being an adventurer i think.

I agree Ben. I rather save up and go on holiday too! Your trip sounds exciting. I plan on staying at my workplace to get my shares then afterwards I plan on travelling for longer. I would love to do Camp America.

I am going skiing for the first time next year. Got nothing else planned yet. I have been to Thailand and India in the past 2 years and will hopefully continue to explore my horizons!

Really, the wider world doesn't interest you? There is so much to see, I don't think I could ever give up seeing it all.

No, a lot of people say that with regards to volunteer projects in Africa. Some people don't mind but for some it gets a bit too isolated and they hate it.

Places like Bali for your first one may suit you as if it gets too much you can head to Ubud, Kuta, sanur, Lombok, Gili Islands etc.

I can not imagine ever having lived over there. How different it must have been especially comparing now to then.

I'm going traveling too, to Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe and Bridlington.

Not at all. I really like the idea of making travelling a priority. Just not sure I would do it alone.

Marc 02-08-2014 07:36 PM

Go on then Sam, I'll come with.

It still terifies me but then I get there and you meet so many people straightaway that it is fine. Plus I see to many people go with friends and they fall out and then go it solo anyway (minus a friend they had from the UK).

I usually tell people that are doing it for the first time to join a small tour (somewhere like Thailand) to start with to ease into it and then plan the rest as they go as by then they feel more confident and know a few people.
