 I'm not sure what your perception of a "stereotypical woman" is (since the term woman embodies half of the people on the planet..), but whatever you think of Danielle, she is far from stereotypical

Heavy spinning in this thread. He said he always thought she was nice, but he's always told things that she's said or done without his knowledge. He didn't say he doesn't like her..just implied that he never gets to see the side of Ashleigh that Helen has seen which is easy to dislike.

That's really not quite true. Even if they both stopped liking her at the same time, doesn't mean one of them followed the other. Helen could have just pissed them off at the same time

Ash has just confirmed that Helen's stories cause him to have bad feelings against Ashleigh where he otherwise wouldn't have any

Yes, he said he thought Ashleigh was a really nice girl. He obviously didn't see anything that bothered him, apart from what Helen told him. That is a VERY telling statement.
I have noticed for some time that Ash likes Ashleigh and has no problem with her, and vice versa. I think Ashleigh thinks differently about him than she did six weeks ago, when he was laughing along with Helen as she called people names. She couldn't touch Helen with her free pass, so she went for her bestie Ash who seemed to encourage her nastiness.
But as she has gotten to know Ash better, she likes him. And he likes her, and it seems he now realizes Helen has been poisoning him against Ashleigh, which is understandable in a way as she wanted him on her side.
Nice to see him being honest, as he has been with Helen the last few days, sometimes in a jokey way - but still letting her know the score.

Yeah I'm glad to see he does have a mind of his own. I used to believe he was just up Helen's arse and nothing else, but for him to say this when Helen was mid-rant about what Ashleigh has been saying about her showed he is able to be honest with Helen even if she wouldn't necessarily agree.

I feel that Ashleigh and Ash's tension was partly an unfortunate result of the "house divide", and as you say, over time she's been more able to see him for him and not just as Helen's sidekick.

When Helen's friends try to defend her they always just end up proving what her opponents say.

Wanting some to win does not necessarily mean they dislike Ashleigh. And do 90% "hate" Ashleigh as Jordan claimed?

Lets look at the ex HMs, for example Mark, speaking on BBOTS tonight, stated that he liked them both. Granted I haven't seen much from Bianca since, but last time I heard her speak, again on BBOTS, she didn't say anything against Ashleigh. And its the same for Zoe, I haven't heard much from her in terms of intensely disliking Ashleigh. Course thats not saying they haven't, I just haven't seen it.

So by my calculations that list would be Pauline, Tamara, Jale, Kim, Steven and Winston.

Of those left in the house, Chris, Christopher and Ash have all said that they like her.

Not as unpopular as some might claim.

(Please note, its late and might not be of sound mind! :D )

..yeah, that was obviously all past for him and no grudges/clean slate etc and Ashleigh has obviously changed her views on him as well over time and been able to 'separate' him from Helen and in his own right, likes him as a person..which was much harder at the time she tried to manipulate him not being saved, that's what time does and how friendships, opinions etc change and I've always liked that about the house because it really does go deeper into 'experiment' type thing ...and actually since that power girl thing and since they seem to have had a better relationship, I really haven't seen any criticism from either of them for the other but I do sense when there are 'truces' from Helen, Ash feels more able and comfortable with open affection for Ashleigh as a friend but at the two females most 'hostile' times, he seems to 'avoid' her more or at least that to me is what has been shown in the HL but it could be a BB manipulation...

..I'm not entirely sure though whether I agree about Ash and his recent 'jokey honesty' with Helen...I think he has seen through the trial thing how she may be perceived by the public and he's kind of trying to 'damage limit' himself....having said that and all in all, he's not too bad a guy, flawed but I don't think in any way spiteful, mean or anything and not someone who holds onto negative feelings...

GypsyGoth 14-08-2014 07:23 AM

When Ash gets out, he will see the footage for himself, what Ashleigh is like behind his back. Until now, he has only had Helen's word about how she goes on since he hasn't been party to any of the awards that have allowed Helen to listen in on Ashleigh.

All 9 have gone so they are great housemates.

Before Danielle got the boot both Ash & Helen said that Ashleigh was nice but was been influenced by Danielle's negativity as did both Jale & Kim. Later on when Ash was speaking to Winston and Christopher he said he liked Ashleigh but she bitches too much.
