Ashleigh looked so hot tonight.

But where Ashleigh fans ****ed up was when they was voting for other Housemates when they really should've been just voting for Ashleigh.

1.2% of 5,000,000 calls is 60,000 calls....not so close then huh!

....The point that i'm trying to make is that unless we know just how many votes were cast...we don't really know how close it was...and simply saying 1.2% is meaningless!
....for all we know, there could have been even more votes than the 5,000,000 that I plucked from the air at random...and Emma might just have been trying to make Ashleigh feel better?....well, you never know!

I would think the voting numbers are probably more around the 250k or so mark, nowhere enar 5m :o

Jack_ 15-08-2014 10:35 PM

This makes me even happier tbh, the fact they were so close proves that they really were the best housemates of the series :clap1:

joeysteele 15-08-2014 11:09 PM

1.2% for a winner is still 1.2% more than someone else got.

I wonder how many votes that equates to?

And should i have lined CH5's pockets even more than i did in my effort to make Ashleigh BB15 winner?

Hmmm...

Exactly so. More money was spent by the public on Helen than on Ashleigh.

It really is as simple as that.

Ok, Helen got a pass to the final but if she was deeply loathed she would have come 6th. Not win.

The "sour grapes" contingent need to ponder long and hard on that. ;)

Unfortunately we never get that information and I think we should really.

However it was a very close run battle and well deserved top 2 placings in my view for them both, obviously I am pleased helen won but credit to Ashleigh, she took the result great and they really have been the stars of this series, for me anyway.
No matter how close the result, sadly there has to be only one winner.

I said that the 5,000,000 was off the top of my head...but do you really think that it would be that low??

I couldn't tell you just how many votes there has been for the last few years...and I know that the viewing figures have dropped since the 2004
final....but the voting figures from then were that 6,363,325 votes were cast during the 2004 live final of Big Brother 5. [Nadia's final]
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4586995.stm

...and I have of course, no way of knowing what today's averages are, but i've a sneaky feeling that the intense rivalry between the fans of the two main protagonists Helen and Ashleigh might well have driven up the figures this year.

....Don't you think that is possible?

The viewing figures were lower than ever this year - it'll average 1.4/1.5m max. Shows like X Factor and Strictly don't even get that many votes... it'll be in the thousands. If that

im really glad that Ashleigh & Helen were in the final but soo glad that Helen won

its unusual to see two women in the final and even if Ashleigh had won I would have been pleased about that

The best part about it all was that they made amends before the last night

Im soo happy that Helen won but cant wait for CBB!

that very true but Im glad that they all sorted stuff before the end

Ashleigh was quite gracious in defeat but I was ecstatic that Helen won!!!

No way were 5 million votes cast I'm afraid. The show only gets on average 1.5 million viewers, and a large portion don't vote at all.

mrflibble 16-08-2014 12:31 AM

I know Helen won over a few people recently, but I just don't think they would've voted more than Ashleigh fans. I honestly didn't think anyone would come close to Ashleigh and with the amount of help Helen has gotten from BB, I just can't believe this is the real result.

Sophiee 16-08-2014 12:33 AM

crazy close, I'm just disappointed that it tipped the wrong way.

Helen had a lot of Twitter support which people don't seem to comprehend, she was trending on Twitter (the only housemate to do besides Ashleigh who was still only trending with 'Helen vs. Ashleigh') throughout the final. She beat Ashleigh by the margin she did because ultimately Helen had a little more fans.

But I just don't think Helen does. Especially if you consider casual voters, I can't see them going for Helen. That's why it makes no sense to me. And then if you take into consideration how BB has treated Helen this entire series, it just makes the whole thing seem fake.

I agree it would be nowhere near 5 million.

However some people do vote multiple times so it could be more votes than we might imagine.

It is not fixed, people have been calling things like this at all. There's no way a major operation like Big Brother would be able to get away with it.
