There should be a poll: do you read all of Waterhog's poems right through?

I read one all the way through then I decided he wasn't a poet so ive never read anymore. Beats me why he writes them, but live and let live I suppose. I much prefer to read waterhogs comments in real sentences because his retorts are very well put together and sensible but the poetry thing is boring and difficult to get into.

I really don't know anything about this theft allegation so I'm not gonna argue with that. Based on her behaviour towards others in the house, I think she's (usually) fair and compassionate, a good listener, assertive when necessary, all qualities I'd associate with a good social worker. If she has stolen from vulnerable people then yes you're right, that is certainly not an example of compassion. But as I said, I try to base my opinions on behaviour in the house. I understand that some people also take pre-BB behaviour into account which you clearly do, so fair enough.

But I must say, "she's the happiest depressed person I've ever seen" is extremely insulting and the exact attitude that attaches a stigma to those with mental health issues. People with depression will often put a "happy face" on to disguise the condition in public. The disorder comes with a whole load of different symptoms aside from "not smiling" which you couldn't possibly know about. Unless you are a doctor or Clinical Psychologist, you do not have the credentials to claim that Dee has faked her depression just because she "seems happy enough".

when I stated that dee was the happiest, depressed person I had ever seen, I can assure you this was said by someone with first hand experience of mental health illness, myself. having battled depression, I am not that naïve to think that everyone with depression goes around 'not smiling', I was saying from my own experience that for the most part, I was 'very down' for the majority of the time. I am also aware that each persons depression is different. perhaps dee has a depression that only shows when, someone suggests she gets a job.:dance:

Well you said it yourself. Your own experiences are not indicative of somebody else's.

that's very true. when you have depression you are told that you have to 'help yourself'. dee appears to have taken that advice verbatim when she 'helped herself' to £13,000 of her employers money. a convicted thief, lazy, and a scrounger, so glad that my own experiences are nothing like hers.

Oh here we go. Benefits debate.

i am thinking we need to close the big brother thread and start a debate a topic of morals etc and work ethic.

i am sorry to say you are all missing the point of big brother - judge them on what you are seeing and bare in mind you might be manipulated so try to keep a over all view.

I don't know anything as to her criminal conviction,it was said she was no longer on benefits.
However, that would not necessarily stop her going to a College to do a course anyway, even if she had one.
As I see it she now has a higher public profile and I think she would get a lot of support along the way if she wanted to do some work as to helping and advising others.
Experiences of life, all that can go wrong as well as what is right can be one of the best ways to learn anyway.

As for Waterhog's poems, I quite enjoy them myself,a good many I disagree with as to the content but they are for me a strong part of this forum now.

No one's missing the point. She in "celebrity" Big Brother because she's been in a TV show on the strength of her being a benefits claimant. Of course people will use that knowledge.
