AGREED. A giant of cinema. a superb actor, excellent director and most importantly a wonderul man. His performances are so accurate and subtle and measured. those 2 were 2 of the greatest movies, stories and performances ever put to screen.
other legendary must see movies, 8 time oscar winner Ghandi , oh what a lovely war (great black comedy), brighton rock (hed bad ass), shadowlands (about cs lewis who wrte lion the witch the wardrobe), the chess players, cry freedom, bridge too far (supreme war film true story), miracle on 34th street (lovely as santa), seance on a wet afternoon, im allright jack (great film with peter sellers too), chaplin (all star cast of the maverick genius), the sand pebbles, the angry silence, magic (tony hopkins is a ventriloquist taken over by his own puppet), elizabeth, hamlet, whistle down the wind (alan bates is mistaken as Jesus by little kids), flight of the phoenix (awesome adventure plane crash with jimmy stweart etc, the league of gentlemen, the magic box, jurassic parks, dunkirk, young winston etc
