James seems to be going out of his way to have conversations with Gary which invariably end badly.

Why not just avoid Gary?

that explains why the ratings are decreasing :pipe:.

James seemed a little stunned that someone wasn't licking his arse about his dancing skill. He seems the type of person who would stick around people who are willing to boost his ego. It's probably the reason he dislikes Gary so much, as just being in Gary's presence is probably a bit of a hit to the ego for James.

Hmm I get what you mean but if he did he would probably be criticised for not being nice to Gary, he was asked to help Gary integrate by BB after all. He does seem to seek out ways to get annoyed with him mind.. Surely there are lighter subjects to speak about which wouldn't lead to drama?

I wouldn't know I have never watched it, but it still doesn't change the fact that the show wouldn't have got rid of him if he wasn't easily replaced.

EPIC !

For sure. That was TV comedy gold. James looked more and more befuddled as the conversation went on. I think he just couldn't believe that anyone would pull his leg. Still, he will come back for more.

I'm surprised everyone thinks he was being serious cos I think he was joking in that deadpan way he has going on. I have a cousin who reminds me of James so much - he (my cousin) jokes and rakes everyone but unless you know him you could take him seriously and he's a bit insensitive and unaware of how he comes across which I think describes James too. I don't think James is nasty, but he does think a lot of himself.
I can't say I like him, but I don't dislike him either...He said Gary fascinates him and I'm interested to see how their relationship develops....

'Brad Pitt' of the dancing world.

Yeah in terms of cockney rhyming slang.

James is probably at the age where he doesn't know Gary's fame very well. So he was being serious. Dancing is not at the class of Gary's skills. Gary is an 'A' list celebrity who got old. James is a young 'B' lister.

Nah, I disagree that he was being serious. On that spin - off weekday show for Strictly in his interviews he was always bigging himself up for laughs in a deadpan way. The problem is that on CBB it's out of context...

...I actually felt sorry for him when he said it because I think he's incredibly insecure and maybe it helps him to feel more secure when he patronises people or 'bigs himself up' but I agree I don't think it's in a mean or nasty way in that he tries to make them feel bad about themselves and therefore makes himself feel better doing it, you know...I think it's just a real insecurity on his part and he doesn't even realise what he's doing or saying etc/is completely unaware....I do think he was being serious though only because I think his character would be to explain that he wasn't being serious if he wasn't..(if that makes sense lol..)...if not for Gary's benefit because Gary doesn't know James or what his humour is..?..but because I think he would explain it for the public so there was no misunderstandings because of his insecurities and not wanting anything to be misinterpreted negatively....

..he may have little self awareness himself but I think he's completely aware of public perceptions in these comments and aware of how the BB house thing works etc....which is why I think he was serious, but I do feel sorry for him...I still 'love to hate him' though....not hate but you know what I mean..a great 'villian'....

Poor James ! He's never gonna live that comment down amongst his contemporaries - quite unfortunate he has made himself the laughing stock as i have a feeling this stupid comment just won't go away and he only has himself to blame .:cheer2::dance::cheer2::dance:

poppsywoppsy 26-08-2014 09:19 AM

Oh I loved that epic put down from Gary, James had no where to go after that only to say it again.

What a huge idiot that man is, he cannot beat Gary for put downs, he just goes behind his back and snivels with Stephanie.

Loving Gary!!!!!

Hahaha... excellent.

I'm a Strictly fan and really, I don't know anyone who liked James. And he wasn't the best dancer by any means. Glad to see the back of him if I'm honest, although I'll miss Ola if she's gone too.

James is not a very nice person, that's his problem.

Exactly! There were many male dancers much more watchable than James. Robin and Artem to name but two, and they came across as nicer people too.

Crimson Dynamo 26-08-2014 10:54 AM

I was waiting for james to say "i am quite a big deal in the world of dance"

I like watching Strictly, but found James a bit too much to stomach watching at times, and reading some of the forums, so did many people, I am so glad he has been sacked from the show along with his wife.

His wife wasn't sacked. She threatened to leave I think but thought better of it. Lots of men tune in cos of her as she is really pretty. I think she thought if she threatened to leave they would reverse their decision about her horrible husband. They didn't. Thank Goodness
