Hello everyone, my name is Alex and i've just dropped in to let you know that my father (who you know as Lex) sadly passed away at four minutes past three am on Wednesday the 20th August. He peacefully passed away in his sleep after a very short illness, which has many contributing factors, (but as he would have said himself, basically old age.)
He will be missed fantastically by all who knew him, including his ten children, his nineteen grandchildren, his twenty four great grandchildren and his four great great grandchildren, not to mention other family members and his countless friends and acquaintances.
The reason that i'm leaving this message is that I know that my dad has spent many happy hours over the last few years , talking and arguing with you guys. And as I know just how important that his chosen forums and friends there were to him , that he would have wanted me to pop in here to thank you guys for the friendship that he treasured on this (and the other three forums that he was on), and to wish you all well, and bid you a last fond farewell.

Thank you , yours sincerely Alex.

Oh Nooooooooooooooooo,I was just chatting to him a few weeks ago,so very sad,he was lovely,a father to be proud of I'm sure,:bawling:So sorry Alex.

Sorry to hear about your father, it's going to be tough stay strong alex.

Lex...
May the blessed sunlight shine on you
like a great peat fire,
so that strangers and friends may come
and warm themselves at it.

And may light shine out of the two eyes of you,
like a candle set in the window of a house,
bidding the wanderer come in out of the storm.

And may the blessing of the rain be on you,
may it beat upon your Spirit
and wash it fair and clean,
and leave there a shining pool
where the blue of Heaven shines,
and sometimes a star.

And may the blessing of the earth be on you,
soft under your feet as you pass along the roads,
soft under you as you lie out on it,
tired at the end of day;
and may it rest easy over you
when, at last, you lie out under it.

May it rest so lightly over you
that your soul may be out
from under it quickly;
up and off and on its way to Heaven.

And now may Spirit bless you,
and bless you kindly.

I am so sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed reading Lex's posts as they were always a good read and thought and clearly gone into them. I was particularly interested when I realised how old he was, as it's not what I would have expecting on a bb forum, which for me was quite intriguing.

Sorry for your loss Alex and thank you for letting us know the sad news. Rip Lex
