..it doesn't really work like that though Mock..some things are not within the power/control to make right or they're an on-going progress and not something that can happen so quickly and easily by just passing a law..I'm sure that gay people if asked the question...'would you like to have gay marriage made legal or would you rather we sort out world peace/all of the homeless people' etc because we can do that right now...would opt to put a hold on legalising gay marriage but it's not an 'option' thing...this was something that could be done and should have been done a long time ago and was within the power to do, so it was...

Ammi 03-05-2015 04:50 AM

...also..(sorry..)..it's like saying..right, we wont do anything until we get every one of these homeless people some shelter/there are no extremists anymore/until every disabled person is treated with the consideration and care that they should be...we'll put a stop on everything until all of these things happen...all that would do is to prevent any progress in just about everything and never bring about any changes...

I have an opinion that seems unpopular on here...

I don't think I have to rip apart one musician in order to like another.

There are so many "I stan ha" "why don't you stan ha" and "how can you stan ha" arguments about music on here it does my head in. I am allowed to love the Beatles and what they did for music in their time as well as like modern day pop and rock. I don't have to burn one musicians legacy to the ground in order to like another. I can like Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchel, Madonna, Whitney, Cyndi, Britney, GaGa, Cher, Fi, and any other diva I want without saying negative things about another.

Music is personal, it is subjective, it feels unique to you and is unique to you because you are the only one who can hear it in the way you do, and feel it in the way you do. Music is art, and art is complex and speaks to each person on different levels. It isn't a cheap character on a reality tv show, it is the fuel of life, so quit ripping other peoples fuel to shreds... I don't stan it.

Leather trumpet is a great guy

Mystic Mock will lose his virginity at the end of the year in a one night stand with chaos

The football forum needs more lower league fans

The religious threads go great with popcorn and a cool glass of Pepsi

:idc: this smilie is actually a great way to get a dig in at someone without getting into trouble. Just stick it on the end of anything you want to say and you are good to go. E.g Kyle you're a twat :idc:

High post counts aren't a good thing. If I ever hit 10,000 posts I will probably commit seppuku through the shame.

-Lots of people think LT is a great guy!!!
-I use :idc: when I am drinking coffee while on the forum, cause I literally write a post and then take a swig... lol, and because until the coffee kicks in, I basically feel like I don't care about anything
-You are almost at the half way point to that shame you speak of

..I think though..(for me when I was younger anyway..)...in some ways, music meant so much more to me than it does now..my music 'understood' me/artists understood me, they sang what I felt, they felt what I felt..they just knew me/they were there for me through every angst I felt... and I do understand the passion with that/when you feel like that ...and I'm not sure when I was younger that I didn't to some extent feel the same with music I liked less...oh I don't understand that, type thing and why don't you see how great this is instead...and yeah/passions will play because music means so much to people, I think...

I am saying the same thing, essentially. So tell us about your passion for your song or your artist, just don't frame it as "this artist can olny be shown as amazing if I debase another artist. What does hating the Gaga have to do ith loving Kelly Clarkson, or visa versa? It is something I don't understand.

You don't have to like the music you do, but I don't have to devalue your passion for it either

..I don't know, I guess it's just the way it's expressed in other things as well and maybe more an internet/forum thing because I've seen similar on other forums as well on many things that are felt passionately about...my music is better than yours/my political party is better than yours/my TV series is batter than yours/my housemate is better than yours/my milkshake is better than yours....

Well, my mikshake brings all the boys to the yard Ammi

I think I hold music on another level than all these other topics because it is art. Politics is obviously a debatable topic. So is television and the personality of housemates and how shows are presented etc etc.

well anyways, it's just my unpopular opinion at the end of the day

..haha, you do make quite nice banana milkshakes I have to say and that's my favourite flavour...

..I do understand what you're saying and am not being difficult or anything/I don't know maybe I'm overthinking it as I often do but I guess that I do think that it's what people feel about something/anything that creates it's importance in their particular lives and puts it on another level for them, type thing ...maybe more so music though because it's something that everyone has has or most people anyway that has great meaning and passion...

..I'll try to think of some unpopular opinions of my own but I can't think of any atm...

The Fixation of Black Girls, Especially the Evil, Vile, Nasty ones that turn up on BB on American TV Shows is really weird :idc: Whats wrong with Black men or Chinese girls for instance? There all just as good as each other

A Real Musician Writes there own Songs and plays Instruments, Always Sings Live and will travel the world for there fans not just to the places that make them the most money rather then this fake pop stars who can sing live and only sell music on there looks

Beyonce can sing, Cheryl has neither looks or talent. (my unpopular opinion of the day right there lol)

And Mokkajava if you're still offended by my Beatles comments then I do apologize, I can sometimes go overboard against things that I don't like to the point that I don't realize that it can offend fans of these things.

I don't think mock meant it in a bad way at all... I totally understood what he meant and I wasn't offended, even though I want to get married to a lady myself. It's just an opinion... some things might be more important than gay marriage to others (like myself and mock) but I love what you're saying and I do agree in principle. There are definitely still extremists out there in the world though, LOL.

I was never offended
but I do take issue with the sentiment that in order to prop up your own musical tastes, you have to trash others. I wasn't really addressing you with my post, although I used the Beatles as an example... it's this general grand standing about music on here... happening in this thread now... that I take issue with.

Fair enough.

And with the same sex marriage Ammi it's not like I'm gonna lose sleep over it being made legal, it's just that the Governments do put ideas in a hierarchy and I just feel that stuff like stop privitising the NHS, stopping ISIS, stop bullying the disabled, and getting rid of the bedroom tax are all more important to me.

That's a great way of putting it mock, all things are important but you do have to prioritise what is the greater good.

In an ideal world Kizzy I would like to think that people wouldn't have to prioritise which good should happen first, but as it's so hard to get the good laws put in place, the Governments should be choosing carefully on which stuff to pick out first.

Another unpopular opinion of mine is that while we're in a recession we should not be donating billions to other countries every year in the aim of being charitable.
