I just find it a bit confusing when FMs complain about Gary's hygiene amongst all of his other annoying habits; there are plenty of reasons to justify disliking him which would kind of affect us as a viewer. His lack of showering etc. could annoy the hms sure, but why would that annoy a viewer? Each to their own though.

I personally find it a reason to.. not dislike him, but feel sympathy for the rest of them, because putting yourself in their shoes, it would be horrible to live with someone who has as a set of hygiene skills as bad as Gary seems to have, it would be really uncomfortable to live with, that's the only reason i have a problem with his hygiene.

Good point well made! I just mustn't be as sympathetic as you :hehe:

He must have a lot of patience tbh because some of them speak to him like ****.

I'd love to know what's going on in his head when he's being lectured at. He may be thinking, F off, you stupid wanker. I remember thinking stuff like that when I was in school, and the Head was lecturing about all my faults.

Me too. I really hope they ask about it in his interviews. I'd love to know how it makes him feel. In a recent video on here (i think in the "James: Where does he get off?" thread) Gary seems to show a little that he's getting fed up of lectures from him.

Gary lets it all fly over his head,He is Hollywood royalty,These peasants he's in with and their opinions mean nothing.

Sometimes a housemate can give him a load of criticisms in a really rude way and he'll say thank you and I can't help but feel it's a bit doormat-y.

Then again, Gary's much more mature and more forgiving than me so can probably look past things like that just to keep more harmony in the house. That is something I would like to work on.

I think he does it to wind them up. :joker:
He listens to them, then says thanks for pointing that out, I'll change that, then he carries on doing it all the while laughing to himself.

:joker: yeah maybe! His comment "I love cleaning now that I've been taught how to" (or something like that) sounded so sarcastic! Would love it if he came out and revealed the whole thing was a wind up.

He won't. He's a silent assassin disguised as a shaggy haired rumpled old man who is endlessly kind and forgiving. :hehe:
He could simply say "Don't speak to me like that" but he's enjoying their irritation and annoyance too much. He won't be happy until there are chunks of hair lying all over the house which they have pulled from their own heads. :joker:
That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. :joker::joker:

In fairness Laura wore the same dressing gown for a whole month on every highlights show so it was clearly not washed because a dressing gown would take a while to dry.

Gary has only been in the house for a week and he could have washed it because he is not seen in it on a daily basis.

The point is Gary was asked to shower and did and has since. I've not seen him spit though this can be a habit for some men but he probably stopped if he was asked not to. So you are really flogging a dead horse. I know its hard to find arguments to discredit him but the repetitiveness when he is clearly showering and not spitting now is just getting boring.

Robodog 31-08-2014 10:05 AM

Gary is the real deal.

True he hasn't bitched once about anyone (even though probably most BB contestants in the entire history would have snapped by now after all the insults he's had)

Not only that - he has taken on board the issues raised about cleaning up etc and actually done something about it, without complaint.

Yet they still find time to mock him. People who do that to him just expose themselves to have a problem. Gary, despite his Hollywood royalty status, is not too proud or stubborn to make a change. Says alot about him and how genuine his flexible outlook on life is.

smileymummy 31-08-2014 10:44 AM

You havent a clue what garys doing! your only seeing housemates reactions, quite odd that really isnt it?

David calling him a game player... I find it funny that the housemates say he has no respect when everyone but Gary has talked bad about each other. Gary's had more of a journey than Helen.

Gary has class. You can't buy that. You either have it or not.

true, I love him to bits

He's a great guy that's all that I care about.

waterhog 01-09-2014 07:56 AM

does he no what he is doing or is his illness preventing him from seeing this. he may not have bitched but he has caused allot of rows ie face to face but is that deliberate or just for show - is he playing the best game ?

I know i wonder that sometimes.

But i get the feeling he has been through so much therapy - and is open minded enough to apply that to life's dramas when they show up.

He has learnt the power of not getting mad with people who are mad at you and is putting that into action.

It's a fresh thing to see as normally most people in the world (and especiallyin BB) would just snap back at their aggressors and it ends up looking like a 50/50 argument.

Gary says nothing bad in return and so it shows up who the real aggressors are as it stays one sided.

ebandit 01-09-2014 08:10 AM
