It's fine for me.

Someone else had a problem with the text size the other day though.

For the new posts problem you can try going to the main forum page, scrolling down and mark all forums read, sometimes it helps but sometimes it doesn't.

Yeah, that was me. The issue is still here for me however I've just gotten used to it.

Font is weird for me now as well

JoshBB 04-09-2014 05:09 PM

At least I know this (hopefully) wasn't my computer's fault I guess.

I found a fix! :cheer2:

copy and paste this into the url:

chrome://flags/ (and load it as if it is a url)

Then find: Disable DirectWrite and click enable just underneath it.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "relaunch browser" tab.

Then after the browser has relaunched close it completely then when you open it and come back to tibb it will be sorted.

It's because of the update to Chrome 37:

Quote:

Chrome 37 with DirectWrite support for Windows now respects Windows DPI scaling. (Previous Chrome versions did not scale itself, so the OS would perform automatic scaling.)

In Chrome 37, you should get one of three things now:
- at 100% DPI scaling, everything should look just the way it used to
- at 125% DPI scaling, icons, buttons, and non-textual stuff will now be slightly larger than it used to be
- at scales above 125%, both the fonts and the graphical elements will be proportionally larger

This is the expected behavior for Chrome 37 on Windows with custom DPI settings.

Quite a few complaints about it. Not sure if I can / should do anything about it here.

What a pain in the backside that is as well as looking awful it really messes up the forums unread posts feature.
All sorted now though.

Ninastar 04-09-2014 10:05 PM

oh for **** sake

the link works, but there's no 'disable Directwrite'

why me?

Ninastar 04-09-2014 10:05 PM

i have a macbook, will that be the reason why?

Ninastar 04-09-2014 10:33 PM

anyone know what the equivalent is for a mac?

getting so pissed off now

lily. 04-09-2014 10:35 PM

Try this:

chrome://flags/#enable-direct-write

Jords 04-09-2014 10:37 PM

Ive had no probs

Ninastar 04-09-2014 10:38 PM

no

thanks tho, Lily

lily. 04-09-2014 11:03 PM

According to the stuff I've found Caitlin, this only applies to the Windows version, so I don't know what they've changed in the Mac version.

Ninastar 04-09-2014 11:11 PM

okay, going to just kill myself now

Ninastar 04-09-2014 11:13 PM

thanks again though!

lily. 04-09-2014 11:14 PM

Np... if I find anything useful I'll let you know.. :)

Ninastar 04-09-2014 11:20 PM

just to make it more clear that the issue is...

I used to be able to go into a thread, read everything and then click the 'new posts' button and the thread I had read already would not be in bold. but not matter what I do, it's all still in bold

you can't tell what thread i've been to here... but i tested it on the sooty one.

Ninastar 05-09-2014 03:14 PM

James, can you help?
