Try to look at it from this angle, he can't be very happy with his life if he hurled that abuse at you, he probably has few friends because who'd want to be friends with that?

He is obviously a bully and bullies are usually bullied, people who spout hate are so unhappy and aren't privilledged in their lives to know friendship and love, you have a beautiful soul, and should pity him.

And remember he'll get his.....karma can be a bitch but she always puts it right;)

i actually agree. When people get upset by what someone said, I like to raise the point that if that is all they think of you then why should their opinion matter?

I'm glad you didnt get affected by it Jonathan, that's really really good and not a lot of people can say it didnt upset them. I totally and completely understand why it annoyed you so much that someone would do that. One of my biggest hates is truly insufferable people, and while their opinions dont bother me, the fact that they think they can treat people like that, truly sets me off.

It wasn't the insult that affected me. He could have said anything and I would have felt the same way. I was truly shocked and confused. Of course his opinion doesn't matter, it's just the fact he thinks he can speak to me like that when I had done nothing wrong.

Here's some advice ... some people are twats.

You can't report someone to the police because they called you fat. This kinda thing probably happens hundreds of thousands of times every day, should be stamped out but there is no way for it to be really.

It wasn't the fact that it was a weight jibe, it could have been a gay jibe or even him just calling me something that doesn't particularly relate - I would have felt the same way. I was just caught off guard as I'd never experienced that before. Now that's it has happened I hope I can deal with it better next time.

Yeah I see what you mean, i think I'd feel the same.. Powerless in a sense.. We all react in different ways to situations, perhaps the way you reacted (not giving him the time of day) was what was meant to happen?

I'm not confrontational anyway. I mean if it's someone I know then it's completely different. But I would never engage in any sort of conflict with someone I don't know. He doesn't deserve the time of day. If he wanted a parking space so bad he could have it. There was loads of spaces nearby, so I don't see why the one I was in was particularly important.
