[Dr Fox 'Exploited Fame To Abuse Teenage Fans'
The former Pop Idol judge used his celebrity to "inflict himself upon adolescent girls", his sex assault trial is told.]

The DJ is saying he still not guilty.

["She describes how on one occasion
Mr Fox asked her to help him carry his records
to the underground car park."
Alone and out of sight, Fox allegedly kissed her.
On a second occasion he asked her
to accompany him and then molested her,
the jury heard.]

I hope the women who falsely accused him are now arrested and jailed for trying to ruin a mans life.

You can't do that unless they could actually prove that these women were lying though. Presumably he was found not guilty because there wasn't evidence to back their claims (which I have no doubt is a common occurrence in sexual assault cases) that isn't proof that they made it up, it's just not enough to prove that he did assault them

ETA : I'm not saying I believe he did do it, I'm just saying he probably was found not guilty as it was a one word against another type thing

why would they be jailed? just because he was found not guilty does NOT mean that he is innocent, it just means that they couldn't PROVE he was guilty.

If they have to prove someone is a rapist, then you should also have to prove that they were lying. how will you prove that they are lying?

how can you prove someone is lying???

it's just as hard to prove that they were lying as it is to prove that they were raped.

this is why so many rapists get away with it, because there is never enough evidence, it's always just he said/she said.

Indeed. You can't charge the woman with anything - or in my opinion, even assume that she IS lying - without proof. You just have to accept that the truth remains unknown.

If, for example, some concrete evidence for example was to come to light then it MIGHT be a different story - say for example, someone was accused of raping someone "last tuesday" but then CCTV footage of them at a hotel in another country every day that week was shown...

But not very often that you get things like that happening. The vast majority of rape accusations go without anyone ever being charged. Plenty of those will have been guilty men walking free. Like Neem, I'm not saying that this is what has happened in this case, just that it's simply untrue to say that it doesn't happen and like I said above - you just have to accept that the women MIGHT be lying, but still MIGHT NOT, and so definitely should not be punished for coming forward.

It would certainly be an interesting system if either the accused or accuser went to jail

The woman would need to have been held in contempt of court if her testimony was deemed to be full of falsehood. Clearly that was not the case here.

I do like the system where there are 3 possible outcomes; Innocent, Guilty and not proven, but unfortunately not proven has now been associated with got off with it, so from a who sues who perspective, the clear either or choice is the only system that currently works.

Remember what paul gambaccini said about the flypaper trap, him and jim davidson both said in there books, and it exposed what the police and the media where doing, because they are all sitting in the same room, everyone of those guys have been hounded, persecuted, and called everything, and I mean everything, the police have wasted public money, for a PR machine, their seems to be a culture of compensation, these days, because people will do anything for money, and even go this low for it, these guys have now had their lives ruined, and put through hell, because the police put up a website that says, have you been tapped on the bottom, or hugged by a celebrity, years ago, then we will believe you, and we will take him to court, the british public have this sick perversion in them to hear what the media tells them, I believe dj fox is a victim of the flypaper trap, these drumhead trials must stop, calum best was nearly thrown into the flytrap by a money grabber, who wanted more than just a few notes spread on the bed, I believe the future for celebs, is that their agents and PR teams will tell them not to hug or kiss, their fans, or put their arms around them for a photo, because it will lead to a false accusation, being made, and their is the price of a loony world we live in today,

but even if that was the case, ACTUALLY raping someone is still a million times worse than lying about someone raping you.

I don't like how some people seem to be implying that being accused of rape is just as bad as actually BEING raped. because it;s not. it's not even in the same universe.

The two aren't comparable but one thing they do have in common is they can both ruin a persons life

From what I heard in the news, there where alot of female obsessed fans who where a bit nutty, they camped outside the studio, even followed him home, and yes stalked him, it raises questions about why this was brought to court, some of them seem madly in love with him, but he rejected them, I think some of them need professional help,
