I agree, and I don't believe that in this instance the request for a 'white driver' was anything to do with preference of skin colour or race per se, but more a case of worried passengers trying to reduce risk - given the case of the 2 jailed Pakistani taxi drivers and the long history of 'grooming' by Asian gangs.

Did you read the article and the part that cab firms played in the whole disgusting episode?

That article mentions two drivers. TWO!!!!! Two drivers in the whole of Rochdale. Thats it? Apparently there are similar gangs in Oxford and Derby but I've never heard of them requested 'white/local' drivers.

So how many rapes would you like before parents get worried 10, 50 100?

Yes. Good for them to be the first to oblige with only white drivers. Its a nice precedent to set.

There is apparently a sex trafficking gang in Derby which I live less than 10 miles from where I live and I've never heard of this precedent.

Not overly concerned about being raped... but I would note that when I lived in a town in the north of England, I did much prefer getting a "local" driver, simply because the (only) taxi company in the town - when it sent a "less local" driver - they had no idea where they were going. And we're not talking obscure addresses here - one didn't know how to get to the local swimming pool. So I was sat in this taxi, directing the driver around town. And he barely spoke English.

So... yeah. I guess that's about my criteria for taxi drivers.

- Knows the town
- Speaks English
- Can drive.

Happy enough with that. Not really going to start racial profiling for potentially being raped. Apparently, white British men also have penises and sometimes even use them to have non-consensual sex. Wacky, I know, but there it is.

When I worked in the main park in the centre of town (Rotherham) we were instructed to watch out for Asian taxi drivers looking to pick up girls at the comp that was bang opposite the park.

This was before the sh*t hit the fan with all the revelations but people knew what was going on. I can't speak for the rest of the country but If I was a vulnerable young girl/woman in Rotherham I would probably not take a taxi alone.

But don't white people rape too?

Edit: Actually i'm not sorry. If the ring group was white nobody would paint the whole white race as sex ring attackers. But a group of Pakistanis did now all Pakistanis are dangerous towards white women.

More people speaking out about too many cultures in UK, UK not being the same due to other cultures taking over, and just generally feeling it when you go to places that are predominantly white like I did when I went up North a few weeks ago.

Living so near Bradford can I honestly say I've never been harassed? ...No.
Do I know if it's endemic? No.

There has for years been a cover up of abuse relating to children in care, do I know it's not race specific? Yes.
