-   -   Nigel Farage & Russell Brand next Thursday on BBC1 Question Time (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268344)

I thought it was virtually allowed to descend into a Brand v Farage state of affairs. There was far too long spent on the first question.
A very easy one to answer, as the petty sniping between the aprties is a big turn off to the electorate.

It didn't need over 20 minutes of the programme spent on it for sure.

I actually felt, Russell Brand went over the top on many things but one thing was clear,Nigel Farage was unnerved by him sniping at him all the time and really Nigel Farage seemed to coil back into a shell most of the time.

I don't think any voter now, under this format, will ever really learn anything of value from Question Time.
It is sad to see at times, an audience which if it was randomly selected, could make for a really good programme and also panelists that will answer the questions put and be made to by the Chairman of the programme too.

None of this wandering off down side streets to other issues which leaves the original question put near unrecognisable.

brand take a complete fool of himself....he went for the cheap shot easy insults playing to the usual left wing liberal hand picked question time audience...farage resisted and simply delivered the facts. on schools on business on population and services etc
brand has taled over people all his life, hes a control freak with dangerous narcististic tendencies. he ducked every question too. cavendish totally owned him, she was quality. his radical liberalism demadning we embrace all junkies was equally misplaced. try embracing the victims they kill and steal from or supply drugs too.....the answer to drugs is of course a multi layered compromise..treat some, arrest some, educate the masses etc but protecting the public from crazy drug addled maniacs is the top priority of all, protect the innocent silent majority, but that doesnt get brand enough attention

he truly is the emperor with no clothes.
IF brand had any facts instead of pre rehearsed insults and soundbites he would have done better. as it stands he went for the cheap shots, small time winner big time loser

He did and his critics were shown to be nothing more than rent a gob bigots like the lady in the audience crying racism at every turn.

Brand shut up after he was swatted for being a sexist:joker:

I couldn't see where he did either,I agree.

He went very quiet for how he usually is, he also looked far from comfortable to me.
I didn't agree with Russell Brand much as to the way he forced his opinion on issues but he did,in my view, and it seems yours too, near completely unnerve Nigel Farage'

Normally Nigel Farage dominates these situations but he didn't last night, not in the slightest.

the truth 12-12-2014 05:43 PM

Farage won comfortably, he came across as pretty statesmanlike, in control, able to answer all points in a cool headed reasoned manner and even showed maturity and good humour..... he didnt go on personal petty attacks like brand, he did provide the facts and figures, he didnt lose his temper like brand, he didnt shout others down like brand, he didnt have loud mouthed psychos supporting him screaming from the audience, he didnt avoid the questions like brand did , in particular on the population going up 8 million and he said nothing on the absurd burocratic undemocratic wasteful unaccountable nightmare that is the european parliament an dhte unreadable unworkable 587 page constitution which no human has been able to read in full...brand claimed to fight for the working man, what rubbish, if he did why didnt he even acknowledge how the ever litigious euro disaster hurts the man on the street and small businesses....nor did he answer how the population growth of 8 million affects life for the working person, the congestion, the queues, the pressure on services and the nhs etc etc brand instead threw some pre prepared cheap shots his way, the type of over simplistic rent a quote insults that may appeal to naive impressionable teenages follow the messiah on twitter...

he threw insults about enoch powell and farage being a city boy drinking booze and picking on the disabled and immigrants. that was a downright lie and really exposed brand as a twat. not only is farage not a bigot, he has never picked on the disabled in any way shape or form...im not anti brand overall, though I think his drugs crusade is overly simplistic , far too biased and coloured by his own bad experiences and lacks balance

hes not the messiah, hes a very naughty boy

It turns out the man with walking stick is brother of a UKIP MEP.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014...?utm_hp_ref=tw

Now his obnoxious outrage is explained. He wanted to defend Nigel Farage by making Russell Brand look as small as possible.

I'm glad Russell kept his dignity and remained quiet after his rant because this man's point was utterly garbage and unnecessary.

I don't see why that should imply anything conspirational tbh, he made it fairly clear he was a Ukip supporter imo but either way his brother's career isn't relevant. You can be brothers and still share completely different views and beliefs; look at Peter and Christopher Hitchens for one

man alive can you imagine Christmas dinner at the hitchens debating light hearted topics like capital punishment, right to die, terrorist and immigration

Braden 12-12-2014 06:14 PM

I don't disagree with you.

I knew he was obviously a UKIP supporter, but his bias was blatant through his unnecessary and berated comments towards Brand. This information (imo) could be a reason for why he made such an outburst. He wanted to protect Nigel Farage and UKIP as oppose to explaining why he supports the party.

billy123 13-12-2014 07:59 AM

BNP lite aka UKIP begged racist Enoch Powell to endorse them.

I really wish all gay people would go and do their rain dance around the UKIP headquarters and force them all to move to bongo bongo land. I cant believe there are people stupid enough to defend these bigoted morons. (well theres a couple on here but we always knew what level they operate on)
