Boobs are secondary sex characteristics anyway, the same as facial hair. But that's another argument for another day.

Of course a woman should be allowed to breastfeed, it's perfectly natural. If you're uncomfortable with it then it's your fault and you need to desensitise yourself to it.

Peeing and pooing is perfectly natural aswell but most people don't do it in public,we all know breast feeding is natural and so it should be, but you will always get those people who will see it as something else, you can see, even from this thread sexual jibes about it,so yes it could be deemed to be a turn on for some pervs and a laughing stock for some kids out there ,we all know how ****ed up the world is,there's a time and a place for everything imo.

A lot of toilets are cleaner than places to eat nowadays Marsh:hehe: and there is usually a nice baby changing room.

Would you like your cubicle to be taken up by a breastfeeding mother when you're busting for a sh*t?

Hardly, and No!
Most public washrooms are not set up for a mother to sit comfortably with baby.
And no, not more sanitary. Every time a toilet flushes, fecal matter gets released into the air, never mind the hot air blowers spreading all that s**+ around.

It was said tongue and cheek, hence the smilie !!! but saying that some of the supermarket baby changing rooms are very clean, comfy and have no loo in that actual room!

Only if I couldn't find a quiet private area but it doesn't bother me if others choose to do so ...it's just not for me ..

Ammi 08-12-2014 05:05 AM

..no I wouldn't, I'm too self conscious to have breast-fed in public myself..other than at family/friend's homes but that's not really 'public'...I do think though that mothers shouldn't feel as though they have to 'separate' themselves into a private room if they need to feed their baby while they are out or restrict their going out around the baby being fed..that shouldn't be necessary and they should feel perfectly comfortable to be breast feeding in a public space...because they've often probably gone out to be in a social situation in the first place..and then they would be sat in a room away from their group....

:clap2:

My best friend is breast feeding her baby atm, I've been out to lunch with her numerous times and she's fed her baby in the restaurant we've been at, you seriously would barely even notice she's doing it, you can see nothing. I don't know where people see these exhibitionists who clearly only had babies so they'd have an excuse to whip their boobs out in public :umm2: because anyone I've ever seen breast feeding their baby in public has always been very discreet about it. I think people who have a problem with a woman feeding her child in public need to get a grip tbqh

But yeah, in response to this thread...

If I had a newborn baby who was hungry, I'd do it in public. But I'd find somewhere quiet to do it. (tbh, i'd probably have stocked up before hand)

I can understand why its something that people find uncomfortable. I would if I saw it in public. But I wouldn't cause a fuss, because at the end of the day, as great as boobs are, that's all they are for.

Breastfeed where you like, but be discreet about it, use a shawl. Next time I see someone doing a whole Earth Mother Production though, I'm getting mine out too.

waterhog 08-12-2014 08:03 PM

if i was asked to read a poem out in public - i would rather breast feed.
