The problem I see is she is given an extra forum to sway the public in her favour that the other housemates are not given. This is an issue when the public are the ones with the say on who stays and who goes. I wouldn't be an issue in the american style BB.

It would only be ok/fair if all the housemates were given the same opportunity

People need to understand that the old BB has died and wont ever be back you just got to move on with it

Its just a column not a novel.

She will write it then it will get polished by the editors im guessing.

Do you really think a team of people will be drafted in to the house to help her?

Again, that is generally not how these celebrity columns get written. Celebs don't sit down at word processors and type out articles. Usually the celebrity will just have a chat with a journalist once a week and the journalist will write up the article.

There have even been cases where a celebrity has given his / her name to a column he/she didn't have anything to do with.

Well considering the show some what relys on newspapers it would be unfair for them to basically advertise the sun for free. It could piss off the star and they'd stop writing BB articles for example (Even though that would be a positive thing)

Exactly. Alot of us were saying before she went in that she's **** in person and that she's only able to carry on her brutally honest, vile bitch act when she can hide behind her computer screen etc and that she (as Josy so eloquently put it) "folds like a deck chair" if she ever has to take someone on face to face and what do BB do? Tell her she's allowed to be normal with people face to face and give her her column and the Diary Room as her substitute twitter, it's a joke

Excellent point Mokka

Since she is not leaving the house I am fine with it, she has to retain her contracted job after all. I don't really understand why people are angry either to be quite honest - if it is inside the house she can't get any info because she will be watched.

Yeah I agree with this, it's not really fair for her exclusively to have the opportunity to air her side of whatever is happening in the house

Nothing surprises me as to what this woman gets away with and it seems BB always goes that extra mile for some of the most obnoxious of people to get them in the house.

I love the statement that she is 'in the house with a bunch of loons, obsessed with themselves'.
The only loon I see, as near to the word and its meaning, is Katie herself and she is the one more obsessed with herself and especially her own rotten, prejudiced opinions.

Perez has almost 6 million followers on Twitter, he could influence the vote too. Loose Women will talk about Nadia so there are a few million viewers who could be influenced to vote for her.

True but in their cases their supporters will only be able to use the same information as the rest of us, Katie will be able to claim a much greater level of insider knowledge and present herself as being much more in the know

People with opinions don't actually need to get into someones face to put their point of view over. That is tantamount to inciting confrontation which never ends up in a good way. Perez spends his life shouting from behind a comp screen yet we never hear of him being a coward do we.

If your opinions are generalizing large groups of society and telling them that they're all lazy or ugly or fat or that people with certain names are undesirable etc etc then I absolutely think you should be challenged. Free speech is fine as long as hateful stuff that you say is allowed to be challenged.

As for Perez, I don't know loads about him, I know he's got some sort of celeb gossip website or something? and as far as I can see of him so far and his interactions with his HMs he seems to be staying true to form and trying to get some gossip from them, I don't see the similarities tbqh

Her columns a load of pish in a pish paper anyway..let her get on with it, makes us have to watch and listen to it's ramblings less.

sampvt 09-01-2015 10:22 AM

I don't think she is actually writing her column from within because these scripts need to be proof read and altered etc etc before they go to print. She is probably just throwing thoughts out there and allowing these thoughts to be polished into a finished article which is fine as long as she is kept away from outsider contact.
