Dirk Benedict wasn't an alcoholic. That was a random accusation that Jade made up because she was angry that he poured out half a bottle of scotch. His impotence was mentioned rather delicately by Carol as I remember it, as Dirk's eating habits and exercise routine became a topic of conversation.

Im glad shes not getting punished for it.

We should all be allowed to say whatever the **** we want and back in the day housemates could even say racial comments.

Im not condoning it but as a social experiment I want to see people talk as they would outside the house.

I agree.
I blame Shilpagate.

It doesn't mean you can go around calling the black housemates the N word, but I think these days there is a limit to what can be said, and the housemate are consistently walking over egg shells with what they can say, regarding race, and sexuality.
I mean you can't even say the word in a conversation without being warned.

Whilst on the subject of double standards.

I despise how sexist the public can be towards females.
The fact you have the majority thinking racism is wrong, which it is, yet somebody from a different gender warrants dog abuse.

For example, Tamara and Winston.
Both, in my opinion came across as quiet arrogant in their VT's.

Tamara (Intelligent, opinionated, but blonde female with big boobs) gets booed and off chants, which eventually also is one of the factors of her being voted off and disliked in the 1st week.

Winston (Essex male, good looking, dim) says he will win because his name's Winston, yet the guy is favorite to win on launch night, and was cheered going in, and pretty much didn't warrant dog's abuse for the entire duration.
His VT mainly consisted of vulgar experiences with woman, involving vomiting on a woman's vagina.

I think if a arrogant man was up against an arrogant woman, the woman would go.

Yeah obviously but my point is that in general just as it is with Americans it does seem to be socially acceptable to rib the French in this country.Calling them slimy and frogs etc and going on about how they surrender.Just listen to Al Murray as an example.

I agree but i think the main sexism against pretty female contestants is from other females.Women have it bad when even their own gender turn against them.

I know.
A shame these reality shows are dominated by 50 year old housewives.
Probably why they booed Tamara, Haha.

Although, another great example would be Toya (Strong, black female) Vs Ash (White male)

I'm thinking she was booed because she was an unpleasant person. I'm not a "50 year old housewife", I'm a 22 year old guy, and I disliked her.

Let's not start acting like american people have been oppressed.

Why do people keep saying this? Every time someone likens something to racism, people bring up the history of slavery and oppression to act like no other kinds of discrimination can possibly be bad.

Nobody has said that "american people have been oppressed", why are you plucking words from thin air? The OP just said that if somebody in the house was derogatory towards someone of a different race, they'd be pulled up on it. The principle still applies, regardless of whether a group of people have faced widespread oppression or not. Referring to Americans in a derogatory way because they're American is xenophobic.
