And the whole country campaigning to free her from prison....Even though it was a soap!

Devastated to hear this tragic news.....44 years in the legendary corrie.....she was one of the best of the genius actors they have. we were all brought up with anne as Deirdre and the love triangle with barlow and mike Baldwin. she was hilarious, really expressive and like all the best corrie stars she has great comic timing. to think she was only 60 too, so sad, thanks for the decades of entertainment anne...x True legend.

I know she has fought cancer and depression in the past but I thought she was well now. A great miss for corrie. Thoughts to her family :sad:

A source (in the Daily Mail) is reporting that the cancer returned in her breast and spread to her brain. So sad :sad:

Didn't she have cancer in her lymph nodes a few years back? She's always seemed in poor health to me for the last 5 years or so, she never looked particularly well. I'm saddened by the news, she was a joy to watch. Rest in peace Annie :love:
