When I lived in Vancouver 15 years ago, I volunteered with an organization that walked around the different sections where the ladies worked to make sure they were safe. The warehouse district had the addicts and destitute types, but Yaletown had the high end hookers... and the majority of them back then told me they were doing it for Uni fees.
