the amount of money they get for doing nothing helps and they are clever enough to realise that how they perform in the house will lead to more money when they come out.

They want to be in there as long as possible as promo=money and that is the gamer they are in

I just think he wanted to show the real him as its hard to show it with on off appearence on other shows where this one its just about his personality and it proves it works and he deserves to win

I believe that the producers persuaded him to stay as well. Also, I don't think he was lying about having to take sleeping pills, because sleep deprivation is enough to make anybody want to leave imo.
