Does promotion actually help?
I mean CBB15 was promoted brilliantly, they even used billboards, and it launched slightly less than CBB13 which hardly got any promotion apart from an eye teaser.

Secrets and Lies promotion was absolutely fantastic, and that launched 2.3M, compared to BB13's launch of almost 3M (2.93), with inferior promotion in comparison.

A good rating for bbuk these days would be around 2.5m

If BB13 nearly got 3M, during the launch.

Then it can do better than 2.5M.
A 3M launch, and 2.5M final would be great.
With 1.8M overnights.

BB will never average higher than 3M, or even 2.5M again.
But that doesn't mean the launches and finals shouldn't.
