I bait like once every six months when I'm bored. :idc: The rest of the time I'm joking with people and they take it as a joke. :hmph:

Maybe your posts are getting reported by those you are "joking" with who obviously don't see it as a joke.

Expired ones vanish from the account for me. I can only see "active" ones. :suspect:

Then you can pm a mod/admin for us to discuss it.

Of course if someone is Infracted and in turn is banned they are going to try and 'explain' what they meant to try and get out of it.

Yeah, stuff like that is bound to happen, I'm not saying the mods are out to get me or something, I just think there should be more communication between the mods and members. :thumbs2:

Well I know that now. :idc:

The problem then becomes people taking things as a joke and laughing on forum and then reporting you behind your back instead of coming out with it. :fist:

I'm not saying this happened... I'm saying it's a possibility. :smug:

Just don't bait, or only joke with people you know aren't going to be offended. :)

That's another thing, if a post is reported because it offend someone it doesn't involve, then action shouldn't be taken tbh, it should only be if the person it's aimed at is offended or if it's a serious rule break or a more social issue. :umm2:

Like if I told Marsh he has "squinty eyes":joker:, he would know I was referencing something he said about himself before, but might reply with something aimed at me, someone might find this offensive and report it, but because it's not entirely 100% clear to the people who aren't involved it could result in an infraction for me or both of us if his reply was something similarly distinctive.

We wouldn't infract for that :umm2:

Just don't do things that could lead to possible infractions if you're not happy with receiving infractions for things that you don't think you should be receiving them for

It was just an example, I am not going to give a serious one because this is a clean thread and I want it to be nice with no trouble. :nono:

Shaun 01-04-2015 05:03 PM

Perhaps the problem is more that you should be accountable for your actions rather than needing to know who exactly has infracted you...

Right ok, well as far as I'm aware, infractions are only given when the member being targeted has reported. Unless it's an obvious targeting situation.

I don't care WHO it is, I just want to be able to explain myself.

Well if I aim something at you, for example, I should only be punished if it was you who reported me. :eureka:

Thats how it generally is. Unless it's an obvious targeting situation.

But if wee feel the need to infract were we see fit, thats down to us. If people have a problem, then message a mod or admin and it will be discussed further in the towers if need be.

andybigbro 01-04-2015 05:11 PM

Also on a side note, we don't go infracting people for fun. :joker:

It's just something that we do in order to keep the forum pleasant and readable.

I know that it's not for fun, it's probably really boring. I would hate to be a mod and have to handle a report in a Rachel Rice Fan Club or something, I couldn't be bothered to read it all and figure out the true context unless it was blatantly obvious. The thing is, that is partly the issue with infractions being taken out of context, it's probably hard for someone who doesn't know the inside jokes etc.. to make proper judgement. That is why we should be able to explain ourselves.

You can explain yourselves, but us mods don't see the TiBB staff return messages, so pm a mod or admin directly and it will get discussed in the towers if need be.
