we had protests (and a night of helicopters) here in Oakland tonight too. Oaklanders love to protest anything. They are even planning to hijack tech busses this week. Drives me crazy. they really don't see that they are not gaining any sympathy, just making more enemies.

The National Guard brought in
just like the other places had to

This is actually quite scary because if the people start to take up arms against the police then we are only a few steps away from Anarchy.

With over 300 million guns in the US it's hard to predict how things might turn out.

Bottom line if the police lose the respect of the people then the people will take matters back into their own hands and police their own areas. Fact is if the police think they can go around shooting members of the public with impunity they will have a rude awakening when the self same people start shooting at them. They have created this situation and I think we are on slippery slope certainly in places like Baltimore.

This is a powder keg which could explode any moment and ignite fires across large parts of the U.S

It's become quite commonplace for this to happen in America. People hijack a persons death for their own personal gain. Sign of the times in America now.

He's gonna get his ass whooped when he get home.

Thanks everyone!

I love that gif/vine whatever... I've seen a few people share it and at least its given them something to giggle about in times like these. A family members friend of ours has had their little shop destroyed :( I've heard things about fires being lit and stuff too. You just can't make it up.

T* 28-04-2015 11:48 AM

Oh my god

She's pissed off because she wanted a 50" plasma TV not a 32" LCD...lol

My step brother (feels weird saying that) works in a Walmart and actually had glass thrown at him. He hasn't done anything wrong... this is just absolutely disgusting. It makes me so mad. Fair enough you think the police have done something wrong, but don't ****ing attack innocent people for it.

The majority of these people don't give a crap about the supposed "cause" that is being protested about. If they did, they wouldn't be doing what they're doing. It's a bunch of mindless thugs jumping on an opportunity to cause trouble, like when the UK had riots a few summers ago. This sort of stuff really pisses me off.

I hope everything works out well for you, Chaos.

Yeah, I agree but that's not what this thread is about. This is about innocent people being attacked for things that they haven't done  Feel free to make your own thread about football violence if you're that bothered.

I think what ITILYT meant was people will hijack anything. They don't care if a funeral was held. They're conniving sly opportunists.

I think that tension has been growing for a while following each death in questionable circumstances, and like a champagne bottle this was just one shake too many.

yeah something like this was inevitable and this may just be the first of many riots.

GypsyGoth 28-04-2015 10:37 PM

I hope no one else you know gets hurt Caitlin, and I hope your step brother is okay

I was thinking that too, it could spread.

Ninastar 28-04-2015 10:48 PM

Oh I definitely don't think this is the end of it. Innocent people will be killed and some people will see that as justice. It's a ****ty situation all round.

lostalex 28-04-2015 11:29 PM

unfortunately the genuine good protesters are giving more power to the thugs. same thing happened in the occupy movement, they said power to the people, and when they give power to the people, the violent, aggressive thugs use that power to ruin stuff.
