Aaron seems like that to me and i didn't like the name dropping. Christian seems like a nice lad so far. Of course it's still early days.

I think it's unlikely because of they're appearances. Which is wrong I know but most guys that look like Cristian are typically going to be friends with "lads" rather a guy that's overweight.

For instance I could see Danny and Cristian being a more obvious friendship than Cristian and Jack.

But who knows they could have a lot in common.

Their personalities seem very different. Jack is quite outgoing, while Chrstian seems more shy and reserved to me.

Do you think so? ah people don't make friends based on looks, do they? I don't know about that at all

Sometimes they do! I mean I wouldn't but you typically see a group of "lads" out all primed with their hair and clothes. They don't take out an overweight guy to the clubs.

Take last years BB. Winston and Ash bonded from the get go!

Boremance?

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 13-05-2015 02:05 PM

..so would you say..(and this is just a general question..)..is it more allowed to judge house-mates/what we think they're like as people on their physical appearance if they're more stereotypically 'pretty' perceived as good looking but less acceptable to judge them on appearance if they're not deemed so physically attractive... it's just interesting...

No I think it's equal. A good looking person is typically hated from the get go. A girl is called a slut a guy is called an arrogant prick. Whereas if they are deemed unattractive they are typically left until they are known more to be judged.

Having said that, those who are typically overweight usually get an initial "fave" reaction. For example Jack in this series, Wolfy in BB14, Laura BB8 etc

I don't get what you're trying to say at all?? I am a bit overweight ( am working on it) lol but I am one of ''the lads'' and I go to clubs. My friends are all different sizes and no one judges like you just described? Infact I can actually pull alot quicker than most of the lads as well.

con 13-05-2015 02:17 PM

Jack actually seems like one the most normal ''Lads'' in there from what I've seen so far.

Yes, very likable. I'm glad he's friends with Christian.

I'm not saying this is the case for most people. It's just what is stereotyped.

You tend to see a group of guys who are all into fitness who bond etc. it's happened in previous series such as Dale and Stuart (BB9) and Winston and Ash (BB15)

I'm not saying someone overweight cannot be a "lad". I'm just saying I thought it would be an unlikely friendship because of previous series.

DrunkerThanMoses 13-05-2015 02:21 PM

How does this mean they are forming a friendship? They are in the pool. So if the twins and Sarah did the washing up together would we automatically say they are bonding and this is the friendship of the series?

..yeah I understand what you're saying that either way there would be criticism of some type also to the person who criticised even if it was about that housemate's character..oh you're just jealous/you don't like them because they're attractive or...you only like the attractive ones so that's why you don't like them/type thing...I'm not sure about the instant fave reaction bit though because I think that can also work the same either way as well ...oh she/he's hot, I like them...

It's just speculation. But yeah there are bonding of course they are! You have to at this stage.

Yeah that's true. However, the instant fave thing was referring to majority. It appears those "bigger" have an easier time getting a majority of the initial fave reaction.

That makes a bit more sense,

True, but it's not always a good thing. Initial favourites rarely win, i think. But he will do well.

i think its a much better bath to be easy going and get on with everyone.

the question is - is there anyone in this house that just can not get on with anyone no matter what ?

Thanks! I'm sorry I realised my post came across quite ignorant at first but that wasn't the point I was trying to make!

So fari don't think so, but it's too early too tell. Usually even the hated ones have friends in there.

...maybe that's because it's more the way now that we have more 'model'/'celeb' types so it's refreshing when it's someone more 'general public'..that's just on first impressions because we haven't got to know their characters yet, so there is not so much to discuss with that..

....so it's less to do with physical appearances and more having a general common interest in terms of something like body building etc...

No I agree! I often see myself finding the "bigger" housemates funny! Which again is a stereotype that big people are full of laughter.

First impressions can either be soon on, but they can also be completely wrong! And I think that is why it is so great that you get to see characters develop on this show. That's why I love Big Brother :amazed:
