It took the first majority Labour govt. to get elected in 1945 to actually bring one to full fruition and the Conservative party actually voted against its introduction around 20 times all through its stages in parliament. In that, it was indeed Labour who gave the UK the NHS. |

and the liberals who paved the way for it all to happen when Lloyd George taxed the rich for the first time, invented national insurance contributions, gave votes to working class people and invented the welfare state Lloyd George was the greatest most talented politician who ever walked the earth |
labour of today, need to purge the party, of champage middle class socialists, get rid of the likes of harriet herman who was a member of pie, and wanted to give adults's rights to have sex with children, and diane abbott who made unfair comments, in truth just stuck two fingers at the parties voters, should get the axed aswell, labour's view of the working class, just show's how out of touch they are, saying that they are uneducated, labour covering up child grooming in parts of england, just shows that they should be banned from having any council seats in the area's that they had coverd it up,

Well the Liberals clearly lost touch with the voters, despite your praise for them, because by the 2nd world war, they were reduced to a rump. New Labour no longer exists either, that is why many like Mandelson want to see Labour go back to new Labour days. I also didn't read or learn about the Liberals in 1929 to 1931, pressing the then Labour govt. to, with Liberal support, introduce the NHS then. Had the Conservatives won the 1945 election, they for sure would not have brought it in, since they voted 20 times at least against it all through its debates and votes in parliament. The only way it was got,was by a Labour govt. being elected in 1945.Deny that all you like but it is a fact. |

Interesting article that fits with the theme of this thread.
'The definition of a decadent society is one that destroys its own future, knowing full well the terrible consequences. On that basis, Britain is truly degenerate. Just look at how it trashes its children and teenagers. Our young are the very people on whom the rest of us will one day come to depend – to care for us, and to earn the country’s income. Rather than mere lifestyle accessories, to be slotted in alongside handbags and cars, they represent our best hope. This human truth has sustained societies around the world and down the ages. Yet in austerity Britain, children have been chucked to the bottom of the pile. They have been robbed of their rightful benefits. And the support they could once draw upon – everything from Sure Start centres to youth clubs to mental-health workers – has been hacked back.' http://www.theguardian.com/commentis...ople?CMP=fb_gu |

labour spent money that they should not of spent, welfare, that mothers who had over five children, and every child they had, was a meal ticket, mick philpott was a case that proved in how people where taking the piss, some of them people are getting up to 40.000 in welfare because of each child they get, and when people are trying to find work, and are stuck on the dole, get treated like scum, there is something wrong here,
