I thought Simon was straight?

Its not the same sort of love you have for your mother. The oedipus complex is something very different with him being "mother-fixated" beyond what is normal.

Maybe when he dressed up in drag the other night he was channeling his mother?

you never know

Sorry, are you insinuating that Simon would like to climb pubis first back into his mothers womb? I'm not quite sure what to say about this one tbh, you've really outdone yourself with this theory.

What i´m saying is, you do not have any proof, of any kind, that he is in fact suffering from an Oedipus complex.

The statements you have provided are not sufficient to prove that. And until you provide me with an actual statement (not a fabricated one) with him stating/saying clearly that he wants to, please excuse my saying, "have sex with her", i do not believe you.

It's pretty disturbing that you think Simon wants a sexual relationship with his mother.

That is really quite interesting, thanks for bringing some intellgence to the threads. Interesting theory - Im not family with Oedipus complex but he certainly has some HORRIBLE issues.

Was the guy from the Hitchock film (I dont want to give any spoilers but you might know) Suffering from the same thing?

If this is the case wouldn't it be more common? Entire races seem to have a peculiar hatred and percieve threat from women - does it all stem from this Complex? Horrifying thought

No its a sophistical hypthoesis by the founder of physchology - just because you dont understand it doesnt mean you have to attack it. He is not consiously aware of it.

What he means is he thinks because you did not attack my theory that you must be me using a different account.

Some people find it difficult to accept others might not agree with them to the point of fabricating a lie.

Well said and I think it's very unfair of him to make such accusations towards you.

Yeah - I just realised, I ve been on this forum for years and only this year have I noticed such a low par.

Everyone is so playground/immature. Its really disappointing. Some of us actually have 'physcholigical minds/insight' and thats why we watch this - as is shown by bit on the pysche on previous series which they ve sadly removed.

I cant understand why other people would watch it - if they aren't interested in physcholical and social interactions - do they just watch it like some boring soap opera!

Norman Bates aka Psycho ?

Used to dress up in his mothers clothing while wielding the knife.
If Simon starts talking in his mothers voice be worried !

But seriously...
It's an interesting theory.
Thought at the time he was very quick to get emotional with her call.

OP says "over ambitious"
Could make sense why he was so riled by Chloe calling him a flop ?
Unconvinced as yet he dislikes women though.

Feel a bit sorry for Simon.
Don't think he's necessarily wrong about much at all.
Just couldn't be bothered to argue with the youngsters.
No wonder he had little time for Jack tonight.

Well Bates was a total nutcase obviously - the name of the film tells you so -
It says at the end of the film that he killed the women due to guilt of "betraying his overly controlling mother" but obviously its an EXTREME example - did you know there is are to sequels to that film, so bad they re funny.
